Q. Can you give us an assessment of your day? I'm sure that putt on 8 definitely helped?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, it was frustrating for, I would say, like the first 12, 13 holes. I was poor on the greens, really. I missed a couple of -- I missed a short putt on 16 and missed a couple more chances really. Didn't feel like I was putting that bad, but still, you've got to get it in the hole and I wasn't doing that.
I played pretty good for the most part. I still think it's tough. And especially like coming down those last few, I mean, 8, it's one of them that goes in, but it was easily like 10 foot past, as well. So it's a 2 or a 4 when it's rolling down the hill.
Yeah, I thought the course played tougher and tougher as the wind picked up and the round got later on. I'm pretty happy in the end considering it was frustrating.
Q. Are you the type of player that likes to set any New Year's goals or resolutions at all?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I'm pretty good and consistent with goals that I've set. I think you have to give yourself some direction, where you're going.
Yeah, it's always nice starting out a year fresh. I really like everybody's sort of attitude when you're coming out at the start of the year. Everybody is really motivated, so it's great being around everyone.
Q. The DP World Tour announced yesterday Keith Pelley stepping down. What is your thoughts on that?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, he'll be missed. He's been a pretty big figure for the Tour the last few years. Somebody I was close to. I mean, very happy for him with what he's got to look forward to; he's going back home, if you like. Yeah, that will be great for him.
And then for us as a tour, look forward, I guess, and keep pushing and see where the world of golf is going to take us as players, really. I guess for all of us as players, our job is just to try and play the best you can and wherever like your game takes you and wherever golf takes you, them just focus on that. Keith has been a pretty strong figure for a long time. Yeah, hope he's happy in the future and wish him all the best.
Q. And you know Guy Kinnings personally, he has some big shoes to fill. How do you feel he'll set up in that position at the top?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I'm sure he'll be great. I'm sure there's a reason obviously they want him there. Guy has been a pretty big figure in golf whether it be management or the Ryder Cup recently and on the Tour. I'm sure he's excited, and for all of us now, it get behind him as chief executive of the Tour and let's all push on together.
