Q. DP World Tour career continues for another two rounds. Tell us your emotions.
GRÉGORY HAVRET: Yeah, I mean, this round was one of my best. I wanted to hard to make that cut. It wasn't too bad yesterday, but my putting just left me and I was plus four.
I know this course so well. I know there are opportunities, even if it's a tough course, of course, and plenty of water and if you make a my take -- plenty of wedges suits to my game. I was doing well yesterday and I thought to myself, well, change putter first, the old-fashioned new, and it was okay because I putted really well today. I played even better, about 17 holes, but that up-and-down was very important.
Honestly it feels like a victory because 5-under, to come back, make the cut in front of my whole family, yeah, I'm very happy to sign for two more days.
Q. After your 560th event on the DP World Tour, what were the nerves like out there, especially coming down the last few holes?
GRÉGORY HAVRET: It was quite close, as far as I remember, those wins back in 2007, 2008, even 2001, Pebble Beach, for the U.S. Open, 2010, I didn't feel such a thing since that. Yeah, maybe Q-School in 2019 was quite good and down the stretch it was quite colorful, too, but this was better because so many friends around me, the whole family, the friends, my friends, also, Nico and Marcel with me. I mean, it was the full occasion so it was even more intense.
Q. Only five or six players shot better than you today the whole day. What does that mean to you in front of friends at your home Open, as well, to do that?
GRÉGORY HAVRET: Yeah, it's definitely has been right there. That birdie on 15 was just the biggest move and I thought to myself, well, don't throw away such a good shot. Don't throw away that beautiful 80 meters shot on the hole before on 14. But yeah, just try to, as much as possible, to play shot after shot. My putting felt really much better and the final putt was very important, this 6-footer was, I mean, so important for me to make.
To finish with missing the cut would be quite disappointed and I wouldn't be happy now. I'm happy to play that good and continue the weekend. It's a shame I didn't really do well yesterday because yeah, who knows over the weekend, the old-fashioned saying, you know. I will enjoy again and hopefully play as good as today. It's a tough course. Don't get me wrong, it's hard out of the rough and plenty of very hard shots to hit. But I will enjoy because 36 holes, when you are about to finish, I will enjoy everything tomorrow.
