Anna Morgan

Quick Quotes

Q. What did you see in that putt there? It looked like you had a confident stroke.

ANNA MORGAN: Yeah, I looked at it from both sides, and normally I kind of would tell him what I see first, and I let him tell me what he saw first, and it was right where I was looking. I knew it was uphill so I could give it a slightly aggressive stroke.

I feel like I've been rolling the ball well, and I really didn't make anything until the last three holes, which came in clutch. But yeah, it was a good par.

Q. That shot from the fairway, I know it kind of got up on the green. What were you thinking when you see it slowly rolling back down?

ANNA MORGAN: Well, I was kind of in between clubs. Obviously short is not good, but I thought it was enough to at least get me to the center of the green, and I just really mis-hit it, so I saw it come back. I've actually been there the last four days, so I felt like I knew how it was going to play, and luckily was able to sneak a par there.

Q. It looked like a bit of a back-and-forth match early. Talk about the match as a whole.

ANNA MORGAN: I got off to a hot start, and then I actually hit the pin on 5, and it came about 20, 30 yards off the green, and honestly, I think I let that get to me a little bit too much. It kind of frazzled me because I felt like I hit a really good shot and didn't get rewarded, which I know is golf.

So kind of let that get to me, and was able to get things going back for the back nine, and I felt like I was hitting good shots and just didn't really get anything going until, I guess, 14. I birdied 14 and had a look at -- birdied 15, had a look at 16, birdied 17, and made a good putt there.

Q. People have talked all week about coming down the stretch. We all know how tough 18 is. You're the first match to go all 18. What have you learned about this course that's going to help you the rest of the week?

ANNA MORGAN: I think I'm an aggressive player, and I think I got a little too aggressive at times today. I think that showed with a couple hiccups that I had. But yeah, I think just trying to play smart, fairways and greens, which I know that's the most cliche thing ever, but especially out here. I think honestly if I can just put myself in the fairway, I feel like I'm hitting my irons pretty well that I can have a good chance at hopefully a look at birdie if not a good two-putt par, which is always good.
