Quick Quotes

Q. So tell us about mounting that comeback. What were you thinking when you were 3-down?

DAVIS CHATFIELD: Honestly, like 3-down here I feel like isn't that much. It can go so quick. Almost did for me my round of 64 match.

I just stuck to my game plan. I made it simple. Fairways and greens will most of the time do you pretty well out here.

Just lucky to capitalize on some of the mistakes he made on the back. He made a couple bogeys. I just parred my way in and got it done.

Q. You made a lot of pars. What were some of the good ones that you thought were...

DAVIS CHATFIELD: I mean, the best one had to be on 18. Yeah, I mean, the par-3 13, 14, 15, that stretch, I hit a bunch of good shots into those holes and made it really stress-free.

He was kind of grinding to make pars, so yeah, really turned there on the back nine. Notah told me that no holes were conceded -- or halved in the second nine, and it can happen pretty easily out here.

Q. How long was that the putt coming up the hill on 18?

DAVIS CHATFIELD: It was about 40-ish feet. I thought it had to get some legs there, but it kind of stretched out at the end. So, yeah, it was a great putt and good it went in.

Q. Also, how does it feel now, twice in the last three years a Notre Dame guy has made the quarters, and also he's your Four-Ball partner.

DAVIS CHATFIELD: Yeah.

Q. How does that feel to represent your school?

DAVIS CHATFIELD: It's awesome. Everything that Coach Handrigan and Coach Gump has done in the program the last four years that I've been there and going into my fifth year, it's unparalleled. I know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. Just a shout out to them, I guess.

Q. At what point did you feel like the momentum really changed? Seemed like I guess on I think it was 14 where you had that bunker shot that kind of hit the lip.

DAVIS CHATFIELD: Yeah, that one, when he hit the lip and I hit it pretty close, I kind of figured, you know, at that point I would be 1-down going into the last few holes. And those are tough holes and anything can happen on those holes.

I definitely felt some momentum shift there, and was just happy with how I played coming in.

Q. Was this one of the bigger crowds you played for this week?

DAVIS CHATFIELD: Yeah, I would say so. Second biggest probably be the Northeast Am this past year. But, yeah, nothing beats this. This is pretty cool.

Q. It seemed like there was a lot of Notre Dame...

DAVIS CHATFIELD: Yeah, I saw a lot of -- I don't know any of those people, but I hope to talk to them after. Yeah, it's cool to see a bunch of ND guys out here.
