Q. I know it's disappointing to lose, but after yesterday, I'm sure the phone was blowing up. How many extra followers did you get on your social media accounts?
JIMMY ELLIS: Not many. Not a big social media guy.
Q. Just kind of sum up. This match, you were up early.
JIMMY ELLIS: I don't know, the back nine, some of those holes it's just pretty much impossible to hit the green and it just turns into a short game contest, and I'm not going to beat the young guys in a short game contest.
What was it like? 10 -- well, I birdied 10. I missed the green on 11. I thought I hit a great shot in, hit it over, didn't get it up-and-down. He got it up-and-down. Next hole, I didn't get it up-and-down again, he did. Next hole, I didn't get it up-and-down again, he did.
Yeah, it's just you've got to get the ball in the fairway and you've got to somehow find a way to make pars, and I just didn't do it.
Q. You did birdie 16 to get it to 1. Was it a one-putt?
JIMMY ELLIS: Yeah, I made like a 20-footer.
Q. On 17 you both bogeyed. Did you have a chance to win the hole?
JIMMY ELLIS: So it was a terrible number. It was 188 into the wind. I thought I had to make 2 there, so I tried to go right at it. I just didn't have the right club to get there. If I had it -- if it would have been a 7-iron, it would have bounced over the back, so I had to smash an 8-iron, and it ended up short. I missed like a 12-footer for par.
Q. Was he over the green? Did he miss?
JIMMY ELLIS: He missed it short right and then had a chip to like 20 feet. So that was the opportunity there.
Q. So you felt like that was the --
JIMMY ELLIS: That was the opportunity.
Q. He made a nice putt on 18. At that point, you're thinking I've got to jar something?
JIMMY ELLIS: I needed a 3 there, yeah.
Q. What's next?
JIMMY ELLIS: I'm signed up for the Mid-Am qualifier on Monday, but there's no way I'm going to it. Probably the Crump Cup in Pine Valley. That's about it for the year, though.
Q. The qualifier just conflicts with work or just waited too long?
JIMMY ELLIS: That's just too much golf. I think I'm good.
