Q. Carlos, so your best finish at the U.S. Open so far. How would you assess the week?
CARLOS ORTIZ: A really great week. Obviously when you have a chance, you really want to take advantage of it. I feel like I played good enough. I just made a few mistakes that cost me. Overall pretty proud.
Q. Talk about 15.
CARLOS ORTIZ: Just it happens. You hit a bad drive, and then on my third shot I hit it really thin. It was hard to get clean contact. It was really, really wet. Overall pretty good.
Q. Got to feel being first place essentially with five holes to go in the U.S. Open?
CARLOS ORTIZ: It is what it is. I did my best.
Q. This is your first top-10 finish by a Mexican golfer since 1972. What does that mean to you?
CARLOS ORTIZ: It means good, obviously. You're asking me right now. It was a great week, but obviously I'm disappointed right now the way it happened. I did everything I can.
Q. Carlos, this is the first time you've been in the heat of battle in a major. How was it throughout the day?
CARLOS ORTIZ: It felt good. I felt comfortable. Obviously I made a double on 15, but I wasn't nervous or anything, I just hit a bad third shot.
