Q. You finished at 1-under and you had three birdies in a row there at 18, 1, 2. Walk me through those and what you feel was working for you.
JIYAI SHIN: Well, actually front nine -- I started at 10. My front nine is not easy for me because I made only two greens in the morning on the front nine. My short game wasn't working, but my shot wasn't good.
When I made the birdie on 18, then kind of make it switch it on. Following two, another two birdies -- three birdies actually. The wind is getting chilly and the temperature getting low.
The last three holes we're waiting quite long, so it made my body getting stiff. I missed one hole on No. 8, but this is golf. Only we finish the first round, so I'm very happy to try for everything today.
Even 1-under is I think a good score for the start, so I'm really happy. I look forward to the next three rounds.
Q. You've won two majors in the past. Do you think you're going to have to draw on those experiences and that feeling to try and get a win here in the U.S. Open?
JIYAI SHIN: Well, I hope so. I have a big dream about that. My best finish at the U.S. Open is fifth, so I never get a chance to win before. I have two wins at the British, Women's British Open, and that means I'm pretty good at links course, and this course you can see links and then ocean all over the area.
Yeah, actually when I playing first round I really love it, too, playing, and then looks up to the positions.
Q. Do you like Pebble Beach so far?
JIYAI SHIN: This is my dream golf course, so I'm really lucky to play here. Pretty busy inside the course, but I try to getting enjoying this course.
