Golf Channel Interview

Q. Cole, you're 3-up in the match at one point and then it goes back down to even, then you make the huge putt here. How do you deal with the ebbs and flows of match play like this?

COLE HAMMER: It was a wild match. We tied 1 and 2, and we didn't tie a hole after that I don't think. It was a lot of up-and-downs, and we just had to stay in there and try to do our thing.

We won four in a row from 10 through 13 and felt pretty comfortable, and then all of a sudden Alex made a bunch of good putts in a row and we were all square and then got to 17, Davis hit an unreal shot on to the green, it's one of the hardest greens to hit in the world, and made a good par there, and then coming up here, Alex hit another great shot, and I was just lucky enough to be able to roll in that putt.

Q. Davis, unlike Cole, you have never played in a Walker Cup. How would you describe the pressure here this morning?

DAVIS THOMPSON: Yeah, there were definitely some nerves on the first tee, but I just tried to commit to a small target and hit a good shot. It was pretty cool playing with Cole today. Obviously this is just the pinnacle of amateur golf, and I'm just lucky to be here.
