Quick Quotes

Q. Kris Tschetter, 3-under 69. What was working well out there today?

KRIS TSCHETTER: I hit a lot of greens. I actually hit 17 greens, which is a little rare for me. So it was just easy. Felt like easy.

I had a lot of chances and just couldn't -- you know, couldn't make any putts. But they're hard. They're all these breaking putts where you got get the speed and the line exactly right.

I had some chances, but, you know, that's golf.

Q. When you were out at your practice rounds this week, did you feel like this was a course that set up well for you?

KRIS TSCHETTER: I was struggling a little bit with how I was hitting it during the practice rounds, but today with the little adrenaline going, I just felt better.

Q. I know you've played in a few LPGA events this year. How much did that help prepare you for this week?

KRIS TSCHETTER: Well, that was -- you know, playing in LPGA events now is just so hard. I'm hitting it shorter and the courses are longer, and so it was kind of like, Oh, gosh do I go and do that again?

It's just really, really hard. But I have been really pointing towards this week, and I knew that just going there and getting some tournament rounds under my belt would be helpful.

I think it definitely did help me.

Q. And there was a time out there where you and Annika for much of the day were tied atop the board. What's it like seeing your name alongside Annika's? Flashback here?

KRIS TSCHETTER: It felt good. It felt good.

Q. What were your expectations coming into the week?

KRIS TSCHETTER: Well, like I said, I've really been pointing towards this week all year, just all summer. Trying to practice and get out and mainly walk. Like it sounds -- it's embarrassing to say, but just walking four days in a row is harder than it used to be, shall we say. (Laughter.)

So that was really -- I've been pointing towards this week.

Q. One more. What does this championship mean to you personally, having it?

KRIS TSCHETTER: I mean, you can't even put it into words. It would mean so much. You know, the USGA, any USGA tournament, they put on such fantastic events, and it's just such a treat to play.

So I can only imagine what it would feel like to win one.
