Q. Jill McGill, 2-under 71. Really good round of golf and right where you want to be heading into Sunday. What's going through your head right now?
JILL McGILL: My kids made it in last night along with my husband, so glad to have them here.
I honestly am happy to be in this position. I'm hitting a lot of good golf shots. A couple of creepers come along from being out of play, but overall really happy.
Q. Have they seen you play of something in this magnitude before?
JILL McGILL: They have not. This is their first time, so my friends were like, don't let them distract you. In my opinion, I said, it's not very often you get an opportunity for your kids to see you do something like this, especially having them later in life, so that's the number one thing for me.
Q. Do they play golf?
JILL McGILL: I don't know, Bella, do you play golf?
BELLA: Yes.
JILL McGILL: She watched her cousin, who's my sister's daughter, shoot 70 at a U.S. Kids, so she has determined -- she said that now she wants to get good at golf.
Q. What do you anticipate the nerves will feel like tomorrow, and how do you kind of deal with that?
JILL McGILL: Well, I told my sister on the first hole, I had a conversation with myself that went something like, Of course you're nervous; it's a Senior Open. Of course you're nervous on the shot. That's okay, just embrace it, and now just try to hit the heck out of it. I'm sure they're going to be up there tomorrow, so I'm just going to try to breathe through it, enjoy the moment, and enjoy the opportunity.
Q. What does it mean to have your sister on the bag this week?
JILL McGILL: It's amazing. Shelley is super looper. It's great. She is a golf pro herself, so she actually wanted to try to qualify for this tournament. She just is over ovarian cancer, so for the side effects of that are still creeping in. Her back went out the morning she was trying to qualify, so she didn't get that opportunity.
Maybe she's happy to be here in a different capacity.
Q. What's the age difference? How old is she?
JILL McGILL: I am younger by three years.
