Quote Quotes

Q. What was the read on it and how far would you say it was?

BLAKESLY BROCK: I left myself the perfect putt on that green. I didn't want to be above the hole. I was just about 15 feet below the hole and I had a nice uphill putt. It broke barely to the left. I was playing it right edge and hit my line, hit my speed and it went dead center, so it was awesome.

Q. You had the big lead and then Shannon came back and tied it up. What was going through your head when you had the lead and when she tied it up and just going into that last hole?

BLAKESLY BROCK: Really my game plan all week has been just one shot at a time, not really about what anyone else is doing. I really felt like I stuck to that. I know my game might not have shown it, but my mindset has been awesome all week. I want to keep it up. Just one shot at a time. Never really got ahead of myself. I wasn't really too worried about what she was doing, but I just tried to play my own game and take it one shot at a time.

Q. How has the entire week felt? This is your first Women's Mid-Am and now you're a finalist. What has the experience been like?

BLAKESLY BROCK: This has been an unbelievable experience. This has been probably the best week of my golfing career, just fun-wise, play-wise. I'm having the absolute best time. The USGA does it right.

Q. What would you say was working well for your game out there today? You had two big wins.

BLAKESLY BROCK: Yeah, I absolutely striped it today. I played maybe three bad shots all day. My ball-striking was incredible. My putting was -- the speed on the lag putts has improved every single day, so I think that was key.

Q. With that win right there now, you're into the next three Women's Mid-Amateurs, you're into next year's Women's Amateur at Chambers Bay, and tomorrow you're going to be playing for a spot in next year's Women's Open.

BLAKESLY BROCK: That's pretty cool.

Q. What does that mean to you?

BLAKESLY BROCK: It means the world to me. This is a lifelong goal. I'm honestly too excited right now to say much, but I have a big smile on my face.
