Quick Quotes

Q. Over 17 holes, that's pretty unusual.

BRETT PATTERSON: Yeah, kind of the same thing as yesterday. I hit it really well. Didn't make a whole lot, but I feel like I put some pressure on him to try to make birdies.

Q. Did you win the last one with a par or a birdie?

BRETT PATTERSON: With a par.

Q. Two-putt?

BRETT PATTERSON: I two-putted for par.

Q. Somebody said he might have three-putted?

BRETT PATTERSON: He did, yeah.

Q. How far was his par putt?

BRETT PATTERSON: About four feet, five feet.

Q. Then you won was it 5 or 6?

BRETT PATTERSON: I won 5 with a birdie.

Q. What did you hit into there?

BRETT PATTERSON: I hit a 9-iron to about three, four feet, rolled that in, and we halved 6 with birdies. He matched everything that he did. I just happened to get away with it today.

Q. Have you ever been involved in a match like that where you guys are just halving hole after hole?

BRETT PATTERSON: My first match was very similar. Very, very solid play from both players, and I just happened to make one or two more putts here or there and that was the difference.

Q. You're into the semifinals of your first Mid-Am. Kind of put that in perspective.

BRETT PATTERSON: It's unbelievable. I knew that I had the game to do it, but I've definitely experienced the downs of this game, so being here right now feels extremely satisfying. I just kept waiting on myself and kept playing my game, and we're here going to the semifinals tomorrow.

Q. Did the delay affect you at all?

BRETT PATTERSON: No, I think we're used to it by now. Honestly, it was kind of nice just to take a breather a little bit. Like I said, we're kind of used to it at this point. It's almost a part of our routine nowadays.

Q. How many holes had you played?

BRETT PATTERSON: We had gotten to 4 fairway, so about three and a half holes.

Q. What did you do during the break?

BRETT PATTERSON: I ate some grilled chicken ^ Check, some spinach, stretched a little bit. I had my second lunch. Got my fuel in me.

Q. You've got Evan Beck tomorrow; do you know much about him?

BRETT PATTERSON: Yeah. I actually played my U.S. Amateur qualifier with him. I know he's a tremendous player, so I know it'll be a great test.

Q. You get the two-year exemption for being a semifinalist.

BRETT PATTERSON: You're the bearer of great news.

Q. A lot of players don't know the exemptions.

BRETT PATTERSON: I didn't.

Q. Obviously it could be a big day tomorrow.

BRETT PATTERSON: Well, I've got a five-week-old daughter at the hotel, so I'm going to take care of her, feed her a couple times and try to hold her --

Q. What's her name?

BRETT PATTERSON: Evelyn.

Q. Five weeks old?

BRETT PATTERSON: Five weeks old. My wife is back taking care of her. I've got a trooper of a family taking care of me this week.

Q. What's your wife's name?

BRETT PATTERSON: Abby.

Q. Did she go to Middle Tennessee, too?

BRETT PATTERSON: She did. We're actually high school sweethearts.
