Quick Quotes

Q. Obviously back in the final again, arguably the two best mid-ams in the country according to rankings, so sounds like on paper could be a classic.

STEWART HAGESTAD: Yep, he's really good. I had a feeling this might happen. Got to bring it this afternoon. Should be great.

Q. Yeah. Obviously didn't have as many birdies today ass yesterday.

STEWART HAGESTAD: Yeah.

Q. Grinded it out it looks like.

STEWART HAGESTAD: Yeah, I played really well for however many days it's been, and I knew that at some point I was going to have at least a match where we didn't either have our best stuff or he was going to hit great shots and whatever, right?

I mean, the birdie he made on 11 was unbelievable. He's a super, super good player. He's got great hands. It's not the finish that either one of us wanted coming down the stretch. Obviously thrilled that I pulled it off.

Q. Talk about the shot you hit on 18, that flopper. Was not easy. Basically hit it like five feet.

STEWART HAGESTAD: Yeah, no, like literally, I mean, yeah, I don't need to hit it again. (Laughter.)

Q. How good a shot was that?

STEWART HAGESTAD: It was really good.

Q. Out of 100 --

STEWART HAGESTAD: The only thing I was worried about was that it would go long. I have a similar shot at home that I was trying to recall in my head, and it's very, very comparable and that's the only thing I was trying to think about and just kind of play that in my mind, that I've hit that shot before and I knew what it would do and trust that it would one, have enough speed to get there, and, two, not go long.

Q. Out of 100, how would you rate it?

STEWART HAGESTAD: I mean, 98. Really good. Again, I don't need to hit it again. It could have gone in.
