Q. We haven't spent a lot of time together this week but now we're about to become best friends over the next 24 hours. Can you guys tell me a little bit about how you know each other?
SAVANNAH BARBER: Yeah, so we are at the Crown Golf Academy and we actually live in the same house together and so we practice every day together.
Q. Tell me a little bit, this is your very first USGA championship, right?
ALEXA SALDANA: I've played 1-2 years ago.
Q. Which one was that?
ALEXA SALDANA: The four-ball, the same, the four-ball but two years ago.
Q. Who did you play with for that one?
ALEXA SALDANA: Isabel Gutierrez Paillaud from Mexico.
Q. Are you familiar with the four-ball format really well?
SAVANNAH BARBER: This is my first year of qualifying here so I wasn't for sure about it.
Q. As quarter finalists and now moving on to semi-finalists you guys are exempt into next year's championship. Did you know that?
ALEXA SALDANA: I did not know that.
SAVANNAH BARBER: Oh, wow.
Q. So next year it will be in Puerto Rico.
ALEXA SALDANA: Oh wow.
Q. What does that mean to you guys to learn that?
SAVANNAH BARBER: That is awesome to have that opportunity. That is so cool.
Q. Can you tell me a little bit maybe about some of the highlights from your round today? Any like real exciting birdies or shots that just made you say wow?
ALEXA SALDANA: For me it was the birdie on No. 9. We were 2-up and we tied all square again and with that birdie we just like got things going again. Good momentum.
SAVANNAH BARBER: So on No. 2 I had about a 40 foot putt breaking left-to-right and I sank it to tie the hole with the other Kentucky girl.
