Q. Just talk about the way that ended. Just kind of go through that last sequence on 19.
SAM MEEK: Yeah.
BRENDAN MACDOUGALL: It's heartbreaking really.
SAM MEEK: Yeah, it sucks. I feel like I did what I needed to do to make it, and imagined put a perfect stroke on it, but I thought I put a good enough stroke on it to go in, and it just sat there. I mean, it's tough, but we'll be all right.
Q. What happened on 18? That thing, an inch to the left, it goes in. It just hit the lip. If it hits the stick it's probably going to go in?
BRENDAN MACDOUGALL: Yeah, it just shows what a goofy game this is. I hit what I thought was a perfect shot, did what I needed to, and if it goes in it's a different story, and same thing, if our opponent doesn't make that putt on 18 it's a different story. Props to him; he sacked up, hit the putt he needed to when he needed to. They earned it. Good for them.
Q. In match play I guess you've always got to assume your opponent is going to make?
BRENDAN MACDOUGALL: Yeah, that's exactly what happened. I hit the chip and they conceded it and I walked off, and Sam saw I was pretty excited, but he said, hey, like it's not done yet, we've got to expect that they're going to make this, and if they don't, then we can celebrate. They ended up making it.
Q. Quite a long day for you guys, two extra-hole matches plus three holes to finish off your quarterfinal. You guys played 41 holes of golf today.
SAM MEEK: Yeah, it's been a lot, but it was a lot of fun being out there, and it was worth it.
Q. What do you take from this experience? It's your first USGA event, your second, to get to a final.
BRENDAN MACDOUGALL: Yeah, it's good. We both played incredible golf throughout the entire week. There were stretches where maybe I didn't have it or maybe Sam didn't have it, a few hole here and there. It's going to happen over five days, but overall I think we played fantastic. I'm super proud of what we did, and it's just unfortunate it ended the way it did.
