Quick Quotes

Q. Chad, you shot 4-under today.

CHAD PFIEFER: Yeah.

Q. Talk me through your round.

CHAD PFIEFER: Yeah, I was just pretty solid off the tee all day. I actually missed quite a few short putts. Could have been a little lower.

I'm happy with the start. Yeah, was just a solid round. Bogey-free. Just got some putts to drop.

But could have been a lot better. Happy with the start.

Q. You played with Brendan who shot 3-under as well and Bailey who also had a fantastic round.

CHAD PFIEFER: Yeah.

Q. Do you think you all were feeding off each other's energy? Did that help?

CHAD PFIEFER: Yeah, definitely helps when you have other people in the group that are playing really well. It's nice to feed off them. Both of them. Brendan came out the gate and birdied the first two holes and then just kind of kept it going.

He gave a couple back on our back nine which is the front. Watching him play was great.

Bailey was amazing. I mean, she was just steady the whole day and made some great putts. Really fun for her to shoot that low. Her career-best. So that's really awesome.

Q. Really awesome to watch.

CHAD PFIEFER: Yeah.

Q. Now, how do you find that this course is suiting your game versus Pinehurst?

CHAD PFIEFER: They're pretty similar, to be honest with you. There is some holes out here that are narrow and you have to be able to drive the ball well here.

If you can get off the tee fine, there is a lot of scoring chances out there. And Pinehurst No. 6 is pretty similar to that. I mean, I feel like -- well, seems like people are making more putts here, so maybe Pinehurst greens are a little bit trickier to read.

They're pretty similar. But, yeah, it's going to be fun to watch and see how everything plays out.
