Tommy Fleetwood

Q. Tommy, can you just reflect on today's performance?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, different day. I felt like it was pretty scorable out there, and I just sort of never got -- I never got on the front foot, never got ahead of the golf course and didn't really make the most of a lot of chances.

1-over is a pretty disappointing score today, but got to put that behind me, look forward. I feel like I need to practise moving into the weekend and go from there.

Yeah, I would have liked to have got more out of the day, but that's what it is. That's what we shot, and we move on.

Q. Just from watching, it did look like the course was starting to firm up a little. Just wonder if you felt that out there, and as well, how do you rate your chances over the weekend?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I think, yeah, there were certain shots that definitely you look at -- I think some more bunkers came into play today. It was easy, like 18, you hit an iron off the tee there and you end up a long way back, but you know that you can't bring those bunkers into play. It's firming up a bit. We're having the weather that will do that.

I struggled with the pace of the greens today. I just never got a ball going all the way to the hole, which was really disappointing.

I'm 2-under. Don't know what the lead is going to be at the end of the day. It might be 9, 10, 11, whatever it is. I'm not out of the tournament. I have to, like, reset and go again tomorrow and shoot the best score I can, but you don't know what the conditions are going to bring in an Open, and you never know what's around the corner in a major.

I've shot some fantastic scores before in majors, and hopefully I can do that again in one or both of the next two days.
