Abraham Ancer

Q. We're joined by Abraham Ancer. Can you just give us some thoughts on today's performance?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, well, very frustrating round today. Started a little bit off of the tee, wasn't really hitting my spots. Obviously it's tough to play out of the rough out here. Two bogeys there in the first, I guess, five, six holes.

And then from there I started hitting it really well off the tee, hitting some good iron shots and obviously making everything. I felt like I was playing a lot better than my score.

At the time I was, I guess, fighting for the cut when I felt like I had enough game to be way higher on the leaderboard. But that's part of the game, and I'm happy that I battled back on the back nine.

I had a couple of -- one shot that hit the pin and came all the way back from a bunker, and it was hard to kind of hang in there mentally because I was grinding and then something like that happens that you just get unlucky.

But I stayed in there and made a couple birdies coming in, and that got me to where I'm at.

Q. I suppose the challenge of links golf plays different to some of the courses you normally play. Can you tell us how you approach links golf?

ABRAHAM ANCER: I love this kind of golf. I think you have to be extremely creative, which I really like that. I enjoy having multiple options around the greens and coming into the greens. I really enjoy it. We don't play it very often. I wish we did a little bit more. But yeah, I think I'm getting better at it, as well.
