Yuxin Lin

Q. Yuxin, thank you so much for joining us and congratulations on completing the 149th Open. Hue was your first Open, and what has the experience been like for you?

YUXIN LIN: This week is just an unbelievable experience for me. Being able to play on the weekend, playing two extra rounds with the best players in the world, it's just a great experience for me. I've learned a lot this week just in general more about my game and areas to improve and what I'm doing well. Just really looking forward to the rest of the year.

Q. Did you feel like there was any surprises out there from the week or anything that you would have liked to have taken more advantage of?

YUXIN LIN: I feel like I could have definitely done better either on the greens or around the greens. I feel like I let a couple shots go throughout the week, and that's definitely one of the areas what I'm trying to improve on. Obviously still need lots of work on it.

Other aspects as well -- just all aspects in general, I think.

Q. As an amateur player, how do you think that this experience will help you moving forward with your career?

YUXIN LIN: Obviously, it's just an amazing experience for me to make the cut this week. It definitely means a lot to me and just got to keep working and keep working on my game, making sure I keep improving and becoming a better version of myself each day and just see what happens really.

Q. What's your plans for the rest of 2021?

YUXIN LIN: I still have two more amateur events in the states after this, so I'm playing the Western Am, which is the end of this month, and then the U.S. Amateur, which is the second week of August, then just going back to school and then playing a couple college events and maybe the Asia Pacific Amateur event in October. That's pretty much it.
