Laurie Canter

Q. Laurie, you just finished your final round, birdie at the end. How do you sum up that last round?

LAURIE CANTER: Pretty disappointing. I didn't play really well. I kind of drove the ball pretty well all day but didn't hit any iron shots close enough. Couple of misses, which around here, you miss in the wrong spot, it can be death. So a pretty disappointing day.

Q. Sum up the whole tournament, obviously a bit disappointed. You had expected to play a bit better, I'm sure?

LAURIE CANTER: Disappointed with how I played for sure. But the event as a whole, and it felt like a really special week, to be honest.

And I think the organizers did an amazing job like building the event, and it's been awesome to be a part of it. Obviously, competitor in me would want to play better, but I've loved being a part of it.

Q. Sort of the crowds, the huge crowds in the grandstands will be the special memories you'll take from this?

LAURIE CANTER: Yes, definitely. Kind of good playing this today with Thomas, had a good round growing, and you see the crowd start to build and respond.

As a fan, I'm excited to get the telly on and watch. Looks like Rory and Viktor will slug it out. It's going to be a pretty awesome day, I think.

Q. We don't know at this stage. They haven't started their final rounds. But just a word on if it's Rory McIlroy and him as a player?

LAURIE CANTER: Already what he's achieved is amazing. I know by his standards he's had a long time without winning a major. It will be interesting how he handles that going up against a guy who is obviously a great young player. Seems pretty fearless.

I'm really excited to watch that as a fan. I think it will be a good afternoon.

Q. In terms of you, what's coming up for you in the tournaments now?

LAURIE CANTER: Not totally sure. My wife's actually due to give birth next week, so depending on that, then I'll decide my schedule. Beyond that, so she's due towards the end of this month at some point. So I'll stay put at home, and then if the baby comes, to be honest, it will be quite nice to spend a bit of time at home for a bit and just see how the land lies in a month or six weeks. With everything that's going on in the world of golf, I think that might be a smart strategy.

Q. Is that your first child?

LAURIE CANTER: Yes.

Q. Exciting, isn't it?

LAURIE CANTER: It's great. We're really excited about it. Hopefully all goes well the next few weeks and we'll have a little one the end of July.

Q. Exciting times in the world of golf. Interesting times certainly with the LIV tour. In terms of do you think at some point peace will break out and there will be some accommodation for that tour?

LAURIE CANTER: I'm not the right person to ask, really, to be honest. That would be -- to me that would make sense. But we'll see. I'm not the right person to ask, unfortunately.

Q. It would be nice, though, wouldn't it, for golf?

LAURIE CANTER: Yeah, it would be. I don't think it's right that people are going back and forth with opinion. I think the right people need to sit in a room and find a way forward. If that's together or separate, but everyone kind of understanding that we're all playing golf, that would be my hope. But I guess it's not up to me. It's up to the people in charge of the respective tours.

And I guess it is kind of the duty of the players who are in a position too to maybe see the bigger picture and hopefully, yeah, 18 months down the line, yeah, we're all a bit more on the same end sheet.
