SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I think I start pretty good today. I birdie hole No. 2, and it made me confident every shot. So I'm very confident today. Everything is perfect for me today.
Q. Have you been speaking to your idol today about how to play with the pressure on Sunday?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I just play -- relax, just relax, and I'll do my best. Today Thongchai Jaidee is coming. He see me on the course. So that is special for me.
Q. He's here today?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yes, he's here today.
Q. He followed you around?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, he walked, watching me.
Q. Were you able to talk to him on the course?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yes.
Q. And what did he say?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: He just fighting, and you can do it.
Q. So you know that his best finish at The Open is 13th. You're currently tied 5th. So you're going to beat your idol maybe.
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I don't think so. I'm just playing. I'll do my best. I want the Thai people proud of me.
Q. Have you gotten a lot of texts back from Thailand? Are people excited back in Thailand?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, I think so. I'm very excited to be back to Thailand.
Q. So this is The Open Championship. It's arguably the biggest, oldest major. You're going to definitely get a top ten. That will help your career. How do you feel about your accomplishment?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I'm feeling good today. You finish good in a major championship, so it make me confident to play in another tournament next year.
Q. What did you do well today? You putted really well.
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, I putted good today. Everything was perfect. Every shot in the game plan.
Q. Which was the best par-3 of the day?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I think hole No. 11, yeah, the par-3.
Q. How long was that?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I think 174. I hit 6-iron pretty --
Q. How long was the putt?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Maybe about 20 feet. 20 feet, yeah.
Q. And the chip on the 17th was also really good. That is a very difficult shot, that chip on 17.
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I said I play every shot is perfect today.
Q. Why does this course fit your eye? Why do you like this course?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: This course is not long for me. I can play more birdies when I play on a not long course.
Q. What happened yesterday? That was your one bad round, right?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yesterday I think the pin location is very difficult for me. I hit not cross to the hole. So I can make only one birdie yesterday, but different for today.
Q. And how will you celebrate tonight? What will you do?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I'm just talking about my family, yeah, and everything is good. So very happy.
Q. Do your parents love golf? Did they inspire you to play golf?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, my dad is also player. So he teach me when I start golfing at 3 years old. My dad is my inspiration for me.
Q. And you never wanted to play football? Do you like football?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, I like football. I love to watch English football, Premier League. It's very good.
Q. Your father is here with you this week, right?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yes, my father.
Q. Does he always travel with you or only to some events?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: He's just excited to watch me.
Q. What do you want to do now? Where is your future? PGA TOUR? LIV Tour? What do you want to do?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Now I'll play on Asian Tour for this year, and maybe next year I'll qualify for European Tour, maybe, if I have a chance.
Q. And that's going to be months away from Thailand. Is that okay? You like traveling?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, I love to travel.
Q. Next week you're playing in America?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Next week I rest in Orlando.
Q. The week after.
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yeah, the week after.
Q. Going back to your amateur days, do you remember when you played Asia Pacific Amateur Championship?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: Yes.
Q. Did that sort of help you, playing an amateur tournament like that, for the development?
SADOM KAEWKANJANA: I played the Asia Pacific Amateur, the last time is 2018. So I finish top ten, I think.
