John Catlin

Q. How would you sum up the week and what it means to you to have done so well?

JOHN CATLIN: I mean, it's just so special. It's just such an amazing event. I was walking up the last, and I was in that greenside bunker and I still couldn't help but smile. It's just such a cool walk. It's so unique to the Open. That's something I'll always cherish.

It's unfortunate to finish off with a bogey. Would have liked to have finished off with a par or birdie, but yeah, it's an amazing week. It's an amazing event, and I hope to be back here every single year.

Q. You had a great run at the end there, 13, 15 and 17, you birdied them all.

JOHN CATLIN: Yeah.

Q. Good feeling or did you think --

JOHN CATLIN: Sometimes you get over a certain -- a couple of putts and you just feel like you're going to make them. There's just a couple of putts where I was like, yeah, I feel like I've got a good chance of making it and I thought I read them right, and I did. Sometimes they go in and other times they don't. Yeah, it was fun. It was fun to make those putts for sure.

Q. It was about a 30-footer on 13?

JOHN CATLIN: Yeah, it was just under 30 feet. I think it was about 27 feet.

Q. And 15 and 17?

JOHN CATLIN: 15 was about 20, 17 was four and a half, five feet.

Q. Talking about the week, what were your expectations at the start, and what do you think you've learnt most of the week here at Troon?

JOHN CATLIN: Expectations, I didn't have that many expectations, just wanted to come and play as well as I could. Yeah, I feel like I belong. I feel like I belong at the major level. I hope I get a lot more opportunities. It's been my dream since I was a kid to win a major championship, and I think one day it might happen.

Q. You're leading the Asian Tour Order of Merit. What are your plans the next couple of months?

JOHN CATLIN: I want to win that Asian Tour Order of Merit. I want to win the International Series Order of Merit, and I want to lock up that LIV spot for next year. I've played the Asian Tour for -- I think this will be my seventh season, I think. I don't know if you'd count years where I didn't play. I basically took those two out. So I think it's been seven years. To win that, it's a pretty storied list of champions that have won that Order of Merit, so to be on that list would be something truly special.
