Daniel Brown

Q. How do you look back on the round?

DANIEL BROWN: Poor front nine. That's basically it. I struggled on the front nine really. I don't think I scored as well as the guys around me on the front nine. The right-to-left wind I couldn't really get to grips with that, but then felt a lot more comfortable when the wind was off the left on the back nine. A little bit to work on with a strong right-to-left breeze.

Q. You're tied 10th as we speak.

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, if you would have told me that at the start of the week, obviously I would have been very pleased. It's a little bit -- I wanted to do better and be higher up the board, but yeah.

Q. Hopefully you'll get back next year on that finish, but in terms of what it's been for you this week, you've played three really good rounds. What does it do for your mental confidence going forward?

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, it's quite big. I had like seven weeks out with an injury with my knee not long ago, and then I haven't really got firing since. It's nice to have a good result under my belt again.

Q. What's coming up for you now?

DANIEL BROWN: Got three weeks off, but I'll be working hard. Prague is the next one, so hopefully I can be fit and ready for that one.

Q. Going anywhere in particular in the three weeks?

DANIEL BROWN: I haven't planned anything yet. Might have potentially like a little bit of a holiday for just three or four days and then get back to work. I'm not sure.

Q. Just you, family --

DANIEL BROWN: Unsure.

Q. Being in contention for a major but then also doing so well, top-10 finish, how does the pride balance with the disappointment?

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, at the minute it's probably a little bit more disappointment, but when I reflect on it, I'll be obviously very pleased I would have thought. But yeah, like I said, just the front nine just didn't quite get it going all week really.

Q. You'll enjoy yourself with your mates in the house tonight?

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, I can get on the drink now, yeah.

Q. I wondered if it at all was in your head today that you could secure a place at Portrush next year by finishing top 10?

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, it was a little bit towards the back nine. Obviously I took myself out of it quite early. So that was playing on my mind a little bit. But still didn't really affect me in terms of hitting shots and what have you.

Q. Your brother is on the bag, isn't he.

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah.

Q. How special is it to have someone so special --

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, amazing. He's getting a nice little payday. Not to bad for a 19-year-old lad, yeah.

Q. How old is he?

DANIEL BROWN: He's 19. He'll get a little bonus.

Q. How was the experience of playing with Scottie?

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, he's a really nice guy. Obviously I've never met him before, so I wasn't too sure how it was going to go, but yeah, we had a good time and it wasn't quite how we both wanted it to end, but yeah, it was fun.

Q. Was PGA Tour card in your head at all this week?

DANIEL BROWN: No. I just go week to week, day-to-day, and then we'll see where we are at the end of the year.

Q. What's the support from your family been like?

DANIEL BROWN: Yeah, really good. Friends and family have been big this week, obviously. It's been quite overwhelming, the amount of messages I've had, but yeah, I'll look -- I've just come straight in here, so it'll be nice to see them all and reflect on a good week.
