AYAKA FURUE: 2-over, her shot wasn't very good, and she was in a lot of bunkers.
Q. And how difficult did you find the weather conditions this morning?
AYAKA FURUE: She wasn't too concerned about the weather. She thought it would be a lot more windy. It wasn't. As the day went on, the winds kind of died down.
Q. You had some birdies and some bogeys. It was a mixed round. What was the highlights of your round? Did you have any kind of key putts out there?
AYAKA FURUE: On the 8th hole, she made a long putt for birdie. That was good for her.
Q. A lot of people say Carnoustie is one of the most difficult courses you might play. How did you find the challenge?
AYAKA FURUE: Very difficult course.
Q. And what are your hopes for the rest of the championship?
AYAKA FURUE: Try to fix her bad shots from today and do better things tomorrow, and play a round great tomorrow.
Q. What is your previous best experience for being in Scotland or Great Britain for your golf?
AYAKA FURUE: First time for her to be here.

AYAKA FURUE: I'm enjoying it very much.

AYAKA FURUE: Long days, light until late. It's something she's not used to.
