Lexi Thompson

Q. Solid performance, 2-under for the day, and a bunched leaderboard. What did the course demand from you in the conditions?

LEXI THOMPSON: We got the first nine in great weather, not too much wind, really the whole day and unfortunate with the rain coming about IN BUT you expect that coming over here. It's a demanding golf course in general, whether or not you have to hit those tee balls ask trust those lines out there and really play for those bounces around the green and just trust those golf shots. Putting weather into play makes it more difficult and you just have to stay in the moment and focus on one shot at a time.

Q. Do you like to look at leaderboards?

LEXI THOMPSON: No, I don't. If I see one, I look away. I've been trying to focus on myself, my game and my emotions and really that's all I can control and whatever happens, happens, with the course.

Q. With more layers on, does that restrict the shots you can play on the golf course?

LEXI THOMPSON: With the weather, I don't put my rain jacket on. I don't like to, unless it's just pouring down rain. I'd rather get soaked and be able to swing rather than vice versa.

It's definitely more difficult just keeping everything dry. But we're very grateful to have a caddie out there helping us out with everything that they can.

Q. How beneficial has a local caddie been this week?

LEXI THOMPSON: It's been so beneficial. I'm very grateful to have Paul on the bag, and he's been giving me great lines and bounces around the green which I would never play for.

So I'm very grateful to have him out there helping me out, keeping me nice, loose and just laughing the whole time. We've had a great time this whole week.
