Steph Kyriacou

Q. 1-under here at Muirfield to begin your AIG Women's Open campaign. What were your impressions on the round?

STEPH KYRIACOU: Everything was kind of just average, I guess. I mean, I wasn't hitting anything really all that close and I was kind of scrambling.

So I mean, when it's windy like this, it's like there's not much you can do about it. The course is great. It's nice and firm like a links course should be. Holed a long putt on the last to get to 1-under, so that was kind of a nice way to top it off but yeah, all is good.

Q. How long was the long putt?

STEPH KYRIACOU: Oh, I don't know, like 30 foot. It wasn't too long but it was like long for today.

Q. I feel like that's quite a long putt. So that was definitely the highlight of the round. Looking ahead to tomorrow, what do you feel like you need to do out there on this course?

STEPH KYRIACOU: I think the exact same, just kind of stay patient and take what you get. You can get, like, absolutely stuffed on this course, so I mean, yeah, just scrambling will do the trick.

Q. A lot of players can see the toughness and the conditions and all that, but what do you enjoy about playing these conditions and the links?

STEPH KYRIACOU: Yeah, I really like links golf because it's kind of similar to back at home where I play. It's right on the coast. So you get a lot of wind. Yeah, in links golf, you kind of have to play well. You won't get away with much, so I think it will bring out the good players.

Q. So there will be some secrets, but what do you do to play good golf with the wind?

STEPH KYRIACOU: I don't know. Just stay patient and stay calm.
