Q. So how do you feel today? Got some birdies and also some bogeys.
ANGEL YIN: Yeah, it was okay. It was just a solid round. Finished at even par. Feel like I could have done better. But it didn't play that easy in the afternoon because the greens were a little bit bumpy.
Q Compare the front nine to that back nine. Anything you can do better or you can adjust anything for tomorrow?
ANGEL YIN: I mean, front nine/back nine has its, you know -- it's just playing all the same, I think, difficult and hard at the same time and some holes gettable. I don't think there's a preference, one or the other.
Q Just wondered if you played many courses where the penalty for missing the fairway is severe, as severe as it is here, and did it affect the way that you approach? Have you played many courses where the penalty for missing the fairway is as severe as it is here?
ANGEL YIN: For a major, yes, actually. For example, Olympic Club, when we played the U.S. Open, if you miss a fairway, you have to chip out. It was pretty severe and then just as penalizing as it is here.
But that is a major. When you do miss, you do have to, you know, kind of eat the consequences. But the heather here does allow like a roulete of some kind, because it's a little bit patchy, and sometimes you can be in an okay spot and sometimes you're screwed.
Q Does it affect the way you approach the round when it's as severe as this?
ANGEL YIN: Yes. Yes, for sure. Because you want to be in the fairway. But so is every other tournament you play in, right?
Q Well, that's true. It's more important this week. That's when you know you're in a major.
ANGEL YIN: I think so, yeah.
Q A couple more weeks till we decide USA Solheim teams. How big of a goal is that for you?
ANGEL YIN: I mean, it's a huge goal considering I missed the last Solheim. So I really want to make it to this year's Solheim, especially under Stacy as a captain. I think it would be very special to play under her, especially since we have back-to-back Solheims because of scheduling and then back-to-back Solheims with Stacy.
Q Do you think your game is in a good place to make a difference on that team?
ANGEL YIN: I do think so. I'm hitting it pretty good, putting it pretty good, and I'm playing it solid. I think I can help out the team, hopefully.
