Q. Take me through the round today. What were some of the best parts out there for you?
MEGAN KHANG: Today was just kind of a slow-starting day. I mean, I told Jack, you know, the first three holes out here are pretty tough. I think I went on the second hole, I hit my 2-wood off the tee, and then I had to hit 2-wood again, and I didn't even get to the green.
So just like kind of getting some good pars at the start of the round, were really solid, and then kind of gave myself some good opportunities, and then really loosened up with the first birdie on 10.
And, you know, overall a pretty steady day. It helped having two other playing partners who were playing pretty good themselves.
Q. What was maybe different about the back nine today? Because it seems a lot of players are performing really well on the back nine today.
MEGAN KHANG: I mean, I think the wind kind of helped a lot more on the back nine. I would say they were more kind of downwind holes to give yourself some shorter clubs in. And, you know, they made 16 reachable. I parred it today.
But, you know, I think given that a lot more holes were downwind, you have the shorter clubs, it definitely led to more scoring opportunities. Because I think on the front nine we had a lot of into-the-wind holes and some crosswinds that weren't very favourable for some shots to get close.
Q. How many birdie opportunities are out here, and where are they? Are they through the putting or being long? How do you score birdies on this course?
MEGAN KHANG: I mean, on this course, it's really straightforward. You've got to keep it in the fairway. And on certain holes you're going to be a little shorter than others, so you're really going to have to take advantage of that when you get the chance to.
Some pins were a little tougher today, but, I mean, if you were in the fairway, you were pretty much -- on certain holes you had some really good opportunities to get pretty close.
And, you know, I think given that it's the first round, you tend to be a little more aggressive and at the same time a little more reserved. But, you know, Jack and I kind of go through it in a sense, you know, you've got to take advantage when the course allows it.
And so I think some girls are doing that and benefiting from it, and then I think a lot of girls are probably just hitting some really good shots and just barely missing out here just because the greens are so subtle.
Q. Solheim Cup related, I know you're one of those right on the bubble. A couple of events left to play. Tell me how much it would mean to you to be on that team and where your game feels and how you feel in your game to be a member of that team.
MEGAN KHANG: I mean, obviously Solheim is a huge honour and it's been a huge deal. You know, I played my first one back in 2019, and the first one I played, and I said to a bunch of the veterans, I understand why no one else wants to miss it once you make the team.
And so obviously that's there. It's coming up quick. But, you know, right now I'm trying to focus on this week and trying to get some good rounds in and get my game ready for that time comes.
