Alia Al Emadi

Q. Alia, Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific, how excited are you to play in the championship and the fact that it is being held in the UAE for the first time?

ALIA AL EMADI: I'm so excited to play. I think it's a great opportunity for me and my teammates to participate. The fact that it's being held in UAE seems just amazing that we can host such a big thing. It's kind of surreal.

Q. The level of competition that you're going to face is going to be quite up level from what you have normally faced. How excited are you to test that kind of competition?

ALIA AL EMADI: The difficulties in this competition are much harder than the other competitions, but I'm excited. I'm really excited to see what I'm up against and also to see how my competitors play.

Q. Can you just tell us a bit about yourself at college you go to and what are you doing right now apart from you playing golf.

ALIA AL EMADI: I go to Zayed University, and I'm studying finance at the moment. Other than that, it's just university then golf, and the same cycle repeats every day.

Q. What did you think of the golf course? You must have played this golf course quite a few times?

ALIA AL EMADI: Honestly, the conditions right now are amazing. I've played before in the past, and they were in good condition, but nothing compared to this week's conditions.

Q. Alia, is this the biggest championship that you have played in your amateur career so far?

ALIA AL EMADI: So far this is the biggest.

Q. And can you tell us something about your form coming into this championship? Did you play any tournament in the last two, three months? And how did you do?

ALIA AL EMADI: Well, due to COVID, I couldn't travel for any tournaments, but I've been playing the local tournaments held in the UAE, like the ladies opens and the junior opens.

I've done well. I had one about three days ago, and I won one of the trophies, so that was not bad.

Q. Which golf course was that on?

ALIA AL EMADI: It was in Tower Links in Ras al Khaimah.
