Q. Kelsey, well done today, 5-under to start your Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship. How are you feeling?
KELSEY BENNETT: Yeah, really good. Game felt really good, holed a fair few putts, so hopefully I keep it going.
Q. 5-under, talk us through the round. What stood out as highlights?
KELSEY BENNETT: Holed some longer putts today, which was good. I hit 17 greens, so actually could have been better than 5-under, but I'll definitely take it. Hit plenty of fairways and hit plenty of greens.
Q. The talk coming into the week has been that the greens are quite slopey and difficult, but you were saying you felt quite relaxed on them?
KELSEY BENNETT: Yeah, I did. I only missed a couple on some tricky downhill sliding putts, but most of them I missed in some pretty good spots, so I think that's the key is keeping it to the right side of the flag.
Q. Is putting usually a strength of your game?
KELSEY BENNETT: It's up and down. It comes and goes, but when I'm on, yes, most definitely.
Q. Obviously you played so well in this championship last year, finished joint runner-up. A year on, what's your year looked like and have you been working towards this week?
KELSEY BENNETT: Yeah, most definitely. Yeah, so having a good result last year gave me a lot of confidence coming into this event again this year. My game has been really good lately, so I've been playing well, feeling good, so yeah, been working a lot with my coach, John Sirhan, so yeah, feeling good.
Q. Obviously there's a lot at stake this week. You got so close last year; does that really motivate you? Does it make you want it even more?
KELSEY BENNETT: Yeah, most definitely, especially Crowe's win last week, so yeah, it would be really nice to get one better.
Q. What do you need to do the next three days to keep up the momentum?
KELSEY BENNETT: Well, my goal for today was 2-under on each nine, which I did on both and then one better on the front, which was my back nine. Yeah, stick to my processes and I think just try and do the 2-under each nine and hopefully get me across the line.
Q. You and Harrison are both from Sydney. Do you know each other well?
KELSEY BENNETT: We do, yeah, same club, same coach. I've known him for quite some time now. He's really good, yeah.
Q. That was definitely a good omen for you this week.
KELSEY BENNETT: It was, yeah, and his dad was actually still here watching us, so it was nice to have that Aussie support.
