Q. If you could start by saying your name and what country you're from.
SOPHIE HAN: I'm Sophie Han from Hong Kong, China.
Q. This is your second time playing in the Women's Amateur Asia Pacific championship, and you've just played your first round here. How has it gone for you today?
SOPHIE HAN: Well, I feel really good today. The weather is good, and my striking and putting all went really well today. It's a really good experience playing here. The condition of the course is great, so it makes the experience more enjoyable.
Q. Were there any holes that stood out for you today? You made six birdies, I think.
SOPHIE HAN: I think the birdie on hole 9, that one was really impressive because it's only 110 yards left, but it was headwind, and I used my 9-iron. Especially the situation, my standing position was not that good, so just made a half swing, but I made it really high and really good. It landed right on my spot and rolled like probably one yard to the hole, so it was a really amazing shot.
Q. You've played at this championship before. You were tied 29th in Thailand. Are you hoping to better that this week? You're feeling pretty confident?
SOPHIE HAN: Yeah, because I've been preparing for this tournament for probably two or three months, so I'm really looking forward to having a better score here and enjoying this week and playing. Yeah, going for a little bit higher than last year, that's my thought.
Q. What's your goal for the whole week then?
SOPHIE HAN: I don't know. I don't have any goal for my position, but I think probably 4 or 5-under for the whole week. Probably 7- or 8-under, that's probably my best goal.
Q. What's your plan going into tomorrow to try to make that goal?
SOPHIE HAN: No plan. No plan for playing lower than that. I will play as well as I can and I'll just try my best to do everything well.
