Henrik Lilja

Q. You've won your match but you've done it the hard way; you went to a number of extra holes.

HENRIK LILJA: Yeah, it was a tough battle all the way. It went back and forth a bit and coming down 18, I was 1-down, hit in the fairway bunker and thought my game was over. But managed to win that hole somehow, and then it was just keep on going back and forth until 23rd, finally made a good putt to win it.

So yeah, very great match and fortunate to come out on the winning side.

Q. Talk to us about that 18th hole. What did you do out of the bunker and how did you get the win?

HENRIK LILJA: I was in the last fairway bunker on the left. Just had to play it sideways. I hit a great 9-iron to tap-in range. Put some pressure on him. Fortunately for my side, he didn't hit a very good approach shot, didn't get up-and-down for bogey, and I managed to tap mine in for par. I was lucky on that one. But yeah, I'm fortunate.

Q. And you said you had a nice putt to win?

HENRIK LILJA: Yeah, so on 5, on the par 3, I managed to hit a good tee shot. Got a lucky bounce as well. Hit it to about five, six metres, 20 feet, and he had about a 15-footer for par, and he managed to make a couple of those on the extra holes. I knew I should make this to win it or it's going to tie it up again. I hit a great putt and fortunately it went in.

Q. When you've played that much golf today, do you need to do anything differently tonight to prepare for tomorrow?

HENRIK LILJA: I don't think so. Hopefully it's going to be a long day tomorrow, so rest is important. Played this course now a number of times, so I should know all I need to know about it, so maybe hit some balls. But other than that, it's just have some food and rest for tomorrow.
