Q. Amazing way to get there, took 19 holes to separate you and your fellow countryman. You must be satisfied?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Yeah, really happy with the end result. But both played really good golf and really happy at this stage.
Q. There's been a lot of South Africans playing this week. You must be excited to be back at the Amateur?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Yeah, playing the first time, it's exciting to be in the U.K. for the first time as well. Some of the boys have been here before and yeah with Christian Miles on the bag really helped as well.
Q. Tell us about more your experience. You're doing so well for someone playing here for the first time.
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Starting off the links courses, it's pretty difficult to get your groove in but starting to come around nicely.
Q. I noticed in the range earlier this week, you love a stinger; you love hitting it low. Does it help you this week.
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Trying to keep the ball out of the wind but it's been pretty calm and this week has been pretty good with the weather.
Q. In terms of your amateur career where would a victory like this sit for you?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Right on top. Probably can't do better, yeah. Really excited to take the next game and take it one step at a time.
Q. For the people at home that may not have seen you play much before, what are some of your career highlights to date?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: About two months ago. I won the SA Boys Under 19 event and the Western Province Amateur MP, both match-play events. So match play is working so far.
Q. What is the difference for you? Do you love, I guess, the head-to-head rivalry of match play?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Probably just the mental side of it. You're never out of it and you're basically playing the opponent, not the golf course this time. Really enjoying it.
Q. And 2018, we had Jovan Rebula lift the trophy. What would it mean to get your name on there as well?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Once again, it will be a life-changing experience playing in the Masters and The Open, a couple of big events, which would be really good.
Q. You said you've won a couple of match-play events, so how many matches in a row have you won now?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Oh, I'm not sure. I'll probably have to go home and count.
