Q. Max, quarterfinalist here in your first trip out to the U.K. and here at The Amateur Championship. Can you sum up the week for us?
MAX CHARLES: Yeah, like I said this before, I played solid golf earlier on. The last two days of match have been good. I had a couple matches down to the last couple holes, which is awesome, and I have good experience for the future, definitely. But today wasn't my day. Back to the drawing board and on to the next one.
Q. You say it wasn't your day. What in particular wasn't going quite right with you?
MAX CHARLES: I think after playing yesterday with no wind and coming out here and it was gusting a fair bit, I tried to manipulate my swing a fair bit on the course which doesn't -- it's not a good result when you do that.
So yeah, all I can do is really play my best. He played a great game today. He was pretty solid in the wind, so tough to beat, but like I said, on to the next one.
Q. This is your first time playing links golf over here in the U.K. and you've seen a proper test of it today with the wind. What have you learned?
MAX CHARLES: It's a different game over here, which I'm glad about the experience under the belt now for the future. If I come back to the U.K., professional amateur, but yeah, it's awesome to play this kind of golf that I haven't been open to before. I've been getting creative around the greens. There's a lot of different shots you can play, but mainly just experience.
