Q. Oscar, first job done, you must be delighted get through?
OSCAR LENT: I'm very happy.
Q. That's obviously the tougher side, isn't it. What was the key today?
OSCAR LENT: I knew coming into today that I that it was the tough course. I just relied on my short game that's been good all year and I scrambled very well today. That was the key.
Q. You had a good late thrust, birdie, eagle?
OSCAR LENT: Yeah, 17, 18, made me quite comfortable.
Q. You're probably thinking at that point, what's the mentality of coming in the last three, four holes?
OSCAR LENT: I was right on the cut or one over with a couple to go. I was just thinking to myself, birdie on 17 and I should be good. I birdied 16 and holed a long one on 17. I was very happy. Probably about a 40- to 50-foot putt. Hit in the bunkers, like 180.
Q. You get over the first hurdle, it doesn't really matter how we get through, just get through.
OSCAR LENT: That's the first stage done. Made the cut.
Q. How many amateurs have you played in?
OSCAR LENT: It's my first one.
Q. You had a good run at the Boys' Amateur a couple years ago?
OSCAR LENT: Yeah, a few years ago, last 16 I think. But this is a bit of a step up. I'm really happy.
Q. Decent season?
OSCAR LENT: Yeah, I've been playing really good recently. I've had a couple top 10 finishes. I'm trending quite nicely. Looking forward to it.
Q. Is match play something that you thrive?
OSCAR LENT: I love match play. County Surrey, we do a lot of match-play tournaments and stuff.
