Q. You're through to the next stage. Firstly, how satisfied are you, 5 and 3 victory?
LEV GRINBERG: Very satisfied. It's a good confidence booster to see where my game is at. Definitely working hard and starting to pay off. I played good today. Just some fixes had in my lag putting but overall had a good match with one of my best friends and we enjoyed it.
Q. You were holding on to the lead the whole day. How much confidence does that give you going into tomorrow?
LEV GRINBERG: It always builds confidence, of course, the better you're playing, the more free you are off the tee and the course -- match play it's about putting but this course is about hitting fairways I think. That's what I did today. Hopefully I can keep that up.
Q. Your one of the young guns. What's it like competing all the time against the older boys and also doing well and fighting your own fight?
LEV GRINBERG: I don't really look at the age but yeah, it's nice. I can tell myself it's not so much pressure because so many more years of playing the Amateur and big tournaments. It's good experience and it's good that I can do it for many more years.
Q. Can you talk us through some of your highlights today?
LEV GRINBERG: In the beginning my iron game is really, really good. I hit a great iron shot into hole 1. It was a good confidence booster as well. I pretty much got settled in my mind on hole 5 when I hit 7-iron to about six feet.
After that I felt like I had the match under control and hit a good one on 12 as well, and made a big putt on 14 to tie the hole. Yeah, I hit a lot of good shots today. It was fun.
Q. What do you like most about Ballyliffin, a cute town and fun links golf course?
LEV GRINBERG: It's an incredible golf course. Definitely my top three. Definitely my top three. Yeah, the views here are amazing. You can play bad and still try to enjoy. Like on 15, when I was 4-up dormie, I saw, oh, it's actually a beautiful tee shot. You have the ocean. It's a great place.
Q. You say top three; what are the other two then?
LEV GRINBERG: Tough to say. There are many good courses I've played, also a course in Ireland, called Ballybunion, it's also nice, and definitely I've played Sawgrass and I've played Oak Hill. I can't name all of them.
Q. If you were to get to the final stage of this tournament, what would it mean to you and your country to have success here this week?
LEV GRINBERG: It would mean a lot for me as well. Probably for my country as well. It would be great because yeah, being in the final of The Amateur is amazing and I'll try to take it step by step and keep my head down and try to win match by match and see where it takes me.
