Q. Fantastic round today. Just talk about your reaction to the performance, first of all.
MATTHEW BRAMFORD: Yeah, actually I came here just really wanting to shoot under par. Obviously such a tough golf course, and I obviously exceeded my expectations. It's a fun course to play when you're hitting the ball quite straight. Looking forward to the rest of the round.
Q. Talk about the eagle on the front nine; tell us how you made that eagle.
MATTHEW BRAMFORD: Well, I actually kind of wanted to hit it in the front right bunker. I was going to be really happy with that. It would leave me a nice shot to set up for birdie. Then hit a great drive just right of the flag, and it pitched into the upslope and then just rolled back to two feet and I tapped it in for eagle, which was quite nice.
Q. You had a great run of birdies on the back nine. Is there one in particular that stood out for you and can you talk us through that?
MATTHEW BRAMFORD: I feel like the birdie on 10 really kind of just set me up for the next ones. I hit a shot, I think it was quite close to being good. (Indiscernible) rough or it would have jumped a little bit more. Then just sunk a really long putt. Kind of just got me, say, in the green for the next few holes.
Q. How important is it to get off to a good start?
MATTHEW BRAMFORD: I think it's always nice to get off to a good start. It's never as fun fighting back. Definitely happy with it.
Q. Talk about your golfing background; what's your career been like to date?
MATTHEW BRAMFORD: Well, I feel like a lot of hard work has gone into the last few years, actually. I started playing golf in Zim and then decided to move down to a golf school in South Africa. It was called KeNako; it's now called Bramble Hill. I've just had amazing coaching there, and what I've put in, they've put in even more, so really grateful for them.
