Gregg Berhalter

Press Conference

Philadelphia 2, Chicago Fire FC 2

Penalties: 4-2

Q. The team fights back at the end, how frustrating --

GREGG BERHALTER: I think it's a hard question because we're taking a lot of positives from the game, especially when you think about the fight and the mentality to come back from 2-0 down and tie it up, and then when you go into penalty kicks, anything can happen, right. And today we were on the wrong end of it.

You know, next game we can be on the ride of it. But penalty kicks is a coin flip, and unfortunately we came up short.

Q. (Inaudible.)

GREGG BERHALTER: I think he did well. It's obviously a blow when you lose your top scorer before the game. It's an oblique muscle that we're checking out. See how severe it is.

Q. Two center backs -- conventional, what was the thought process there?

GREGG BERHALTER: I think that's hindsight. Those are two very good penalty takers, when you say conventional, I'm not sure what you mean by that. We've been training all week, and Bamba was up and net (ph) was going to be up eventually. But I think that things happen. Players miss. We don't want them to miss but things happen.

Q. Sergio gets the red card at the end. What did you see happen there?

GREGG BERHALTER: Really disappointed with Sergio because he lost his head. And he's not a fighter. To do something like that that now puts him out of this game hurts the team. It's a big blow. Disappointed in that.

But he's a young player and young players make mistakes; and we support him still, and we're behind him, and he's going to learn from this.
