Jack Elliott

Press Conference

Philadelphia 2, Chicago Fire FC 2

Penalties: 4-2

Q. What are your thoughts on the way the team battled back?

JACK ELLIOTT: Yeah, I think it's good confidence for us. I mean, I think we matched them very well throughout the game, and you know, really limited chances they had.

Yeah, obviously the fight to come back from 2-0 down late in the game and take it to penalties, just unfortunate not to take it the whole way.

Q. With the goal, what did you see on the set piece? Looked like there was some discussion.

JACK ELLIOTT: Yeah, I just moved away from it and the ball dropped down to me and in order to come at it -- came in low and that's what I did and it went in.

Q. Was there extra motivation to take that very difficult shot against --

JACK ELLIOTT: No, I don't think that made any difference. I don't think I had many other options to be honest.

Q. The PK --

JACK ELLIOTT: No, it was a bad penalty.

Q. And just in terms of how this team -- the two penalty kicks, fighting back --

JACK ELLIOTT: Yeah, I think we still have momentum in this series. We scored the last two goals in it. We'll take confidence from that going back home. I think we have a group that believes in itself.

Q. One thing that's been an improvement -- how much does it bring confidence -- inaudible.

JACK ELLIOTT: Yeah, it's huge. Wish we could have taken advantage of it, but it's huge and it's great for him and the team.

Q. Just what is it going to be like this week as you try to get these guys prepared as one of the leaders of this group.

JACK ELLIOTT: Yeah, it's frustrating, we felt the win was there for us to take at the end going into penalties, but I think it's something that we can look at it take into the next game that, you know, we came back and we really battled the whole 90 minutes to be here and be in the position to take it to Game 3.

Q. You now have so many familiarity, playing each other six days apart --

JACK ELLIOTT: Yeah, they are always going to have a similar work ethic and tactical way to play.

For us, it's the same. We have to match the intensity and try and get our football to be on board the next game.
