THE MODERATOR: Welcome to the ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open. Great to have you as Scotland's leading player. Can you tell us about your feelings about the week and now here onsite?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, obviously very excited for the week and grateful for the invite. It's obviously a special event for me each year. Family are coming to watch and stuff. First time meeting the little one, as well, for my aunts and uncle. It will be a special week.
Q. Where are you staying?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: We're staying in Troon. So yeah, staying there, and so yeah, it will be nice little family reunion, like it is every year, but yeah, looking forward to it.
Q. You've just been out with your sponsors, VisitScotland?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, and Sean Connery Foundation. They just started sponsoring me. It was fun to catch up with them. Amazing what they are doing for the girls coming through Scottish golf. So it's nice to play with them and hear their stories, as well, about Sean.
Q. I know this is your home Open, but every year, I see you enjoying it so much. How do you not let the pressure get to you but make sure you have the best week?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it's not easy obviously. I've played it a few times now, so getting more used to it. The first time I played, I put a lot of pressure on myself to play well. And at the end of the day, it's just another tournament just try and do my best and enjoy it, is the main thing.
And seeing all the Scottish fans as well, it's nice to play in front of them, only get to see them once or twice a year, depending on where the The Open is. Just enjoy it.
Q. You've had some good results and shown some form a little. Can you talk about your form coming in?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it's been obviously -- kind of had a few good rounds in there leading up after a few rounds on tour this year, but not putting all four rounds together.
So I feel like my game is trending in a good direction, and this week will be better than any to kind of kick it into action and hopefully have a good end to the year.
Q. Since last year's tournament, you've added a new addition to the family?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yes.
Q. How are you managing to juggle motherhood and golf?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it's obviously a different lifestyle now. It's not just myself to think about. He's almost seven months old. So obviously put another -- something else to think about when I'm on tour, and just excited see him after I finish every day. It's been nice to come home and to not think about golf.
Q. Georgia was in earlier and saying the biggest thing is getting the routine right and getting the practise right and time with the child right. How are you managing?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Exactly. It's hard because usually you're thinking about, I'm going to practise all day, and now you have to manage your time a bit better and be more focused when you're at the golf course and manage your time well.
It's a bit -- like Georgia said, it's a bit of a juggling act. But getting the hang of it now, and making sure my days are very focused when I'm the at course.
Q. And you've been out on the course, obviously, this morning. How is the condition and how is it looking?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: It's a lot different than the past few years. It's a lot firmer and faster, especially on the fairways.
So yeah, hit a few different lines off the tees and a few different clubs. So yeah, it's been different. The greens are really good. They are a bit more receptive than the fairways, but yeah, it's been nice to see it play a bit differently.
Q. And will that suit you, with the fairways hard?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I think so. It's more linksy. So obviously using my advantage -- being a home player, can use that to my advantage.
