THE MODERATOR: All right, welcome to the media center at the 2025 CME Group Tour Championship. I am joined by Grace Kim. Grace, you've had an awesome year this year.
GRACE KIM: Thank you.
Q. Just talk a little bit about some of the highlights for you personally.
GRACE KIM: Obviously personally getting a major win under my belt is huge. I guess I didn't it expect to come around that quickly. And the way I did it is also very special. And to get the International Crown title with the girls as well I think is a huge milestone for all of us.
Yeah, it's just been I think a bit of a slow start to my year and a little bit of I guess mental doubts in there as well, but I am very grateful for the outcome.
Q. And what does it mean to you personally to be here in the field this week with top 60?
GRACE KIM: Yeah, I think it's obviously a huge achievement and a big testament to my team that has been with me since I guess my first rookie year as well. To be coming back here for the third time in a row as well I think is, yeah, massive thumbs up for me.
Q. Have you gone back and watched the broadcast from the Evian? And if so do you have any of your incredible shots saved on your phone? How often do you relive it?
GRACE KIM: I'd probably be lying if I said I haven't watched it. Obviously there is some good clips in there. Yeah, that chip in was probably the most I've watched. It's probably all me really just re-watching it.
Yeah, it's just been I think a bit of a pinch-me moment. Like at the time I just didn't realize what was going on, and to be re-watching all the video footage of what has been collected and I guess presented to the world with my win, yeah, was a bit of a heartfelt moment. Probably shed a tear with Drew's video. That was quite nice.
Yeah, that was a really nice feeling.
Q. Do you think of yourself differently having pulled off such a clutch performance?
GRACE KIM: I think my self-confidence has boosted for sure. I still struggle here and there. Like golf is just not something that works out every week, and when you don't have that confidence, just knowing that you've got it done before I think helps myself internally anyway.
So I think since then adjusting to what had happened was hard at the start, especially with the British being a quick turnaround. Yeah, yeah, just kind of I guess settling that in a little bit more, and especially at Crown getting it done with the girls as well has, yeah, definitely boosted my confidence.
Q. When you have self-doubt like that what do you personally do to tamp that down and play your best? Because golf is such is difficult game obviously.
GRACE KIM: Yeah, it's definitely more mental than physical over the years, and having a good team around and I think having honest people around you helps.
I personally haven't seen a sports psychologist over the years, but the last -- I think before KPMG I got to see Dr. Julie at least twice, so it was just nice to have someone to talk to. And whether you solve something or not, just to be able to have a conversation with someone who is so experienced in that field definitely helped.
And, yeah, there was definitely a few key pointers she mentioned that I tried to use. Yeah, I think also just having honest conversations. It could be hard with your team at such a level, but just being able to trust my team to have that conversation.
And I guess another thing would be like I'm always on my phone, so I tried to -- whether it's Instagram or whatever, I've tried to follow a lot of positive pages. Yeah, I guess just it's like a daily thing that I get to see once in a while.
So that helps, too.
Q. What have you learned about yourself this year given how it started and the performance at Evian? What have you learned about yourself?
GRACE KIM: Yeah, I think I still struggle with self-confidence at times. It's just golf. Like it happens. I think that's always just going to be a learning experience.
But sometimes I've just got to trust that I am better than I think I am sometimes. So, yeah, just really engraving that in my mind.
Q. We had an announcement today about the broadcast enhancements. Can you just talk about what that means from a player perspective?
GRACE KIM: I think that's great. I think we need all the exposure that we should be getting. I think sometimes, especially overseas, the times might not match, so being able to have that extra time on the broadcast could definitely boost our views.
We obviously try our best on our end, but then to be able to have that I guess connection to get it globally for a longer period of time I think is, yeah, huge.
Q. And lastly, a fun question. What do your nails look like this week?
GRACE KIM: So they've got a bit of gems in them. I just can't afford to pay so much money for basic nails basically. I've just got this crisscross black tips and gems on it.
Q. I had to ask after Evian with the nails.
GRACE KIM: Oh, yes, yes.
THE MODERATOR: Thank you very much.
GRACE KIM: Thank you.
