Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Jeeno after her first round at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards. 6&5 win for you. What was working so well?

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, I think my approach shots today, like my iron shots today is really good -- except the last hole.

But other than that it's good.

Q. Obviously International Crown year; really good at match play. What is it about match play that maybe brings out your strengths?

JEENO THITIKUL: I think match play, it's kind of like different strategy compared to like general week.

When you have a match play you can be aggressive, and then if it's like not going well, it just like one hole and then you just can reset it and just go again on another hole which is I think it's kind of fun.

Then it's just bring like a fun game of golf for us.

Q. And then Shadow Creek, this is your first time here since 2022. What do you remember about Shadow Creek the first time that you played here and how has it changed or any strategy that has changed for you?

JEENO THITIKUL: I remember it's so tough. The course so tough, firm. I think this year it's kind of like more easier than that year that I play.

I think it's just more soft so I can play more like a little easier.

But I think it's still got the green here is so like pure and so slopey. If you know the slope really well and then you can play with the slope well, it just good chance for you to have a win here.

Q. You've been playing so well for so long now. Is there some aspect of your game that you credit for playing so well?

JEENO THITIKUL: Well, I was just trying to be consistency as much as I can. You know, like we play week in, week out. I know it's going to be a lot of good golf and definitely going to have like a bad golf someday as well to be honest.

But I work hard. I trying to like every shot is the same as I can. But, you know, trying to play in contention every week, it's really my goal for like every year.

Q. Is it mentally draining to be on the leaderboard every week?

JEENO THITIKUL: I think it's definitely mentally draining to be on top of the leaderboard every week, because, you know, like it's just not a skillset you're going to have. But also mentally has to be strong as well to be on top of there.

Like you can see a lot of -- a lot more talented players come in and then also like if you're going to be really on top every week it's going to -- the mentally is going to like burnout sometime as well, as I have before.

Now it's just a good practicing.

Q. And then what's it like to play Danielle out here? This is her home course. Crowd was definitely behind her.

JEENO THITIKUL: Uh-huh.

Q. What's it like to play against someone like that?

JEENO THITIKUL: I think it's nice. I think it's just bring my A-game here because I know that she knew the course pretty well, like a lot more than me of course.

And then just -- I'm just trying to bring my A-game to like play against her, because I know like she going to know every slope that she been playing.

But I also have like put like more pressure on her as well. At this point I know I'm not know the course better than her, but I have to bring like the best game that I can be.

Q. I was just going to ask, so you've been in contention a lot. How would you compare or if you could compare the feeling of your match today and the competition with that and being in contention in stroke play? Could you compare it?

JEENO THITIKUL: I talked to my caddie this week that I'm super chill this week. I was like whatever's happen, I'm really chill. No matter I going to lose or win.

I think it's can't really compare because here it's just really like hole by hole, but stroke play it's kind of like if you miss it, it's seem like your position kind of drop down a lot and lot of girls coming.

Here just like face to face, hole by hole, so I don't think it's can really compare much.

Q. Vegas is known for a lot of good food. Wondering if you had anything good to eat that stands out this week?

JEENO THITIKUL: Definitely. I don't know if you guys know there's like a huge Asian (indiscernible) here. One grocery store named Bangkok Market. They had like already finishing the food but you can go and then microwave it, which is really good. If you guys want to try Thai food, that's my best.
