Q. All right, pleased to be joined by Jenny Shin after her second round to the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards. A nice 2-up victory over Amy Yang. Just take us through the match.
JENNY SHIN: Yeah, it was tough in a sense that we were both playing pretty poor golf, a lot of bogeys out there.
But the best part of the day was that we were first off and we weren't waiting on anyone, so that was the best part. We were having a lot of fun. I didn't even feel like we were in a match play.
But, yeah, coming down the stretch Amy made a few mistakes and me making the birdie on 17 kind of sealed the deal.
Q. You had a lot of success here and a lot of wins in match play. What is it about Shadow or this event that brings out some of your strengths?
JENNY SHIN: I actually only partnered with MGM late last year so I didn't really have any correlation with Shadow Creek, but I think it's that I really enjoy playing difficult golf courses and this is one of them.
Match play is just fun, right? You get to see just the mental struggle because we don't really ever compete with one another. So I mean, not in that sense.
Yeah, so I think I enjoy the thrill a little bit. I was pretty nervous coming down the last three holes. I think I did a pretty good job handling it.
Maybe, yeah, I don't know.
Q. And then as a Vegas resident, how nice is it to see the girls come in and really give Vegas and Shadow Creek the love that it rightfully deserves?
JENNY SHIN: It was tough to do that yesterday. The weather was quite horrendous. I had about seven people ask me, how do you live here? We have pretty tough weather throughout the year, but today is absolutely perfect. You know, I say, it's not always that bad. (Smiling.) And if you are lucky enough to be a part of the MGM you get to practice here.
I've been able to practice here the last month and it's been pretty -- it's a really awesome privilege, so, yeah. (Smiling.)
Q. What's going to be the mindset heading into tomorrow knowing you have an opportunity to maybe advance to the round of 16?
JENNY SHIN: Yeah, Amy and Grace, I really, really adore both of them so it's kind of tough getting to that fighter mindset tomorrow.
I think I'm just going to try and play good golf, and if it works out, great. If not, at least I played great golf.
