Q. Okay, here with Ashleigh Buhai after her third round victory at T-Mobile Match Play. Advancing to the round of 16 now. Just talk about today's match.
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Yeah, I mean, the course today was so tough with the extra wind, and the greens just seemed a little firmer, a little quicker.
So I didn't make any birdies but I played very steady. You know, Alexa probably didn't have her best today, but I felt like I did what I had to do and hit it to the right areas to play stress-free golf around here.
Q. We haven't talked to you, but what's your strategy in playing match play? Proactive? Reactive?
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Very much just try to stay in my little bubble. It's very easy to get sucked in, and I feel especially if maybe the other player is not playing as well then you could become defensive.
It's so important to just try and play your game. Obviously will be times you might bail out a little bit more, but in the back of my book I have the things that I want to do well this week, and one of them was just stick to my game.
Q. When Charley holed out yesterday on 15, you were 2-down with three to play. Now 24 hours later you moved onto the weekend. Is that just the nature of match play or is that...
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Yeah, it's the nature of match play. It's this golf course. It's never over on this golf course. I remember few years ago too I was I think 4-down and five to play and ended up winning 1-up. It just can get so tough and can really bite you.
So I was playing well against Charley. I felt yesterday was a pretty fair result for the two of us in that game to come out with a half.
As my caddie said, fat lady ain't singing. She tells me she ain't singing yet, even though she's not fat. That's our little joke to keep us calm and focused on what we had to do.
Q. Looks like you're probably going to play Celine Boutier. Does that matter, or do you focus on your game and try and move on?
ASHLEIGH BUHAI: Yeah, I got to focus my game. Celine is a great player. I think we have pretty similar games. We are not like not bombers. Neither of us really spin the ball much, which I feel like is a big advantage around here. I feel by now I've started to learn how to use these slopes well.
Obviously she's a great match play player. It's going to be a tough match.
