Q. All right, here with Cassie Porter after her third round at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. Cassie, another solid round out there today. On the TV it looks like the course was firming up quite a bit. Is that how it felt out there?
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, definitely. I think the first nine was very similar to the last few days, but the back nine the greens started to firm up. And, yeah, I mean, the pace of my putting kind of showed that.
But I mean, the course is ever-changing out there. It's kind of fun, yeah.
Q. When the course is changing like that, what do you rely on in your game to make sure you're still firing those under-par rounds you need?
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, I think it's definitely a time where you need to rely on your processes a lot, and just reminding ourselves that, as I said couple days ago, it's all not that bad. Like we're out here. We're having a great time. The fans here are incredible.
So just looking up and seeing them, they're all so cheerful and happy to be here, so I think that's been really good for us. Yeah, just sticking to processes mostly.
Q. I was going to mention the fans out here. Along hole four the J. Brewer's that is filled to the brink. Talk about just how much this event has grown over the years and what you've seen.
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, I was only here last year, but even from last year we have extra grandstands out there, there is more fans, more kids.
You know, I was saying it feels like a major out there. It's so awesome because there is so many kids out here and they're all just having the best day ever.
So I just love seeing that.
And it's so cool that we have the opportunity to hopefully inspire a couple of them, yeah.
Q. And then an opportunity tomorrow to get in the winner's circle. Only a couple shots back. Can you talk about just the excitement heading into tomorrow?
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, you know, a wise friend of mine said to me that nerves and excitement are the exact same feeling. And, yeah, I'm not going to lie, there is a lot of that. But, I mean, what a privilege, you know.
So I'm really excited to go out there tomorrow and just see what happens. But sticking to the same game plan, but, yeah, how cool.
Q. Yesterday you talked about you don't get a trophy on Saturday.
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah.
Q. You kept yourself in it.
CASSIE PORTER: Uh-huh.
Q. How exciting is that to know that when you wake up tomorrow you're right there?
CASSIE PORTER: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, this is what we do it for. We do it for the nerves of being in that position. We do it for the excitement of it. We do it for the opportunity to win.
And I haven't actually said that word yet, but as I said, I'm not holding any silverware yet. No one is, and no one will be until like 4:30 tomorrow afternoon.
We're all out here just grinding and doing our best, and we'll just see how that finishes for us.
Q. Have you been this close?
CASSIE PORTER: I don't think so. Not on the LPGA Tour.
Q. So what's it going to be like tonight for you?
CASSIE PORTER: I'm going sleep like a baby to be honest because I'm exhausted. You know, it's very exciting. We're staying in a really nice little town and there is a river close by. We went for a walk this morning and I think that really helped just to calm your mind. My mind gets pretty busy.
But yeah, same thing. I think I've had tacos for the last six night in a row, so that is going to be a seventh night this evening I think. Not that I'm suspicious [sic] at all.
Q. How hard was it to watch that game yesterday?
CASSIE PORTER: The game? That was rough. Yeah, honestly, like when we scored the U.S.'s goal for them I tuned out. Yeah, I just looked at the result after that. It was pretty rough.
But, it's okay. We're not over yet. But, yeah. Anyway. (Laughter.) Thank you.
