THE MODERATOR: All right, very pleased to be joined by Team Jin & Ronic, defending champions of the Dow Championship. When you guys think back to winning here last year, what were some highlights that stick out?
JEENO THITIKUL: Just playing together was the highlight all week to be honest. I mean, like had really good like fun out there. You know, one of my favorite tournaments for sure. You know, really relax out there, really fun, and then trying to make everything that we can.
RUONING YIN: Pretty much the same.
JEENO THITIKUL: Cannot copy my answer though. Can't.
RUONING YIN: My highlight seriously is about the same, because play alongside your best friend is always going to be fun, yeah.
Q. How nice is it to have a tournament like this, you get to pal around and still also be serious and compete, especially in between two of our majors?
JEENO THITIKUL: I think it's fun, though. Like we had some, you know, stress week which is major, but like we also have Dow which is so relax, and then really have fun out there, which is I think reminding our mentally health that's golf is just golf.
And then we had small thing to do. Just like want to be good, good, good every day and wanted to be perfect every day, but once I step in the team tournament I don't think we hope for perfect shots or we hope -- we don't hope for perfect putts or chips that we have. We just hope to have fun out there. Trying to make it, but if not making it, it's fine because we have partner to make it for us.
RUONING YIN: True. Well, I think this week is the only team event we have on our schedule, and it just very unique, and especially we're like playing like intense golf last week and then come into this week just like more relaxing and just try to have fun out there.
Especially it's very good that I'm not against her this week. Yeah, so it's pretty fun.
Q. Jeeno, I know this was your first time here last year; Ronni, you've played it a few times. How does this course bring out some of the strengths of your games?
JEENO THITIKUL: I think here wasn't that like long, long course. They had, like, you know, some shots that -- all the par-4 wasn't that long as we have compared to major for sure.
I mean like if you can put yourself on the green, it's just like have a chance to make a birdie. Because the green wasn't that slopey as last week is, too; less wind also.
I think like it's just really low score course to be out there, especially as a team for sure.
RUONING YIN: Yeah, this course, it's definitely softer and it's shorter. You know, she doesn't really miss fairways and doesn't really miss greens, so, yeah, I think this course, because it's short and you can -- if you can just put the ball on the fairway you'll have really good chance because you will have like short irons in, wedges. You'll have really good chance to make a lot of birdies.
Q. We obviously know you have great personalities together off the courses. What's a normal round going to look like this week between Ronni and Jeeno?
JEENO THITIKUL: Hopefully she's not come up to me and then, did you hit a good shot out there? And then I say, I think I hit it better. I think I'm longer last week. Hopefully not like that as last year.
RUONING YIN: Well, I cannot guarantee that. Just going to be like super normal. We don't really play together in the off weeks, so...
JEENO THITIKUL: Not at all.
RUONING YIN: Yeah, not at all.
JEENO THITIKUL: Even our house so close.
RUONING YIN: It's just going to be like a normal day, hang out with your friends, yeah.
Q. How do you guys complement each other's games?
JEENO THITIKUL: I did compliment her short games a lot, like chipping-wise.
RUONING YIN: I don't think she really have short side. I think her game, like driver is good, approach is good, short game is good, putt something good.
Well, short game, like I say she doesn't really miss greens.
JEENO THITIKUL: Ooo. (Smiling.)
Q. Obviously we come over here to Midland, and to see the whole town rally behind this tournament, see all the fans, what does that mean to have their support of this event and the LPGA?
RUONING YIN: Well, I think it's amazing because I'm in airbnb this week and my host message me like last Saturday. Said, we're really like exciting that you're one of the players. He said golf has been his sport since when he was a kid and he just really, really exciting for me to being here.
He left me a card at the house, which is really like heartwarming. Yeah, I just -- every time I come here I just feel the passion and the support. It's really good.
JEENO THITIKUL: Good story. I don't have that story. (Laughter.)
I mean, like I definitely thinking here it's one of my favorite -- because I'm pretty countryside girl. Ronni's know. I don't think here it's pretty like big city to, you know, like everyone is known then coming to play golf.
While we having Dow as the title sponsor here, every time we play pro-am all the people really supports and really like grateful that we are all here, like LPGA are here. Because I don't think here it's a big city-wise people coming and have a golf tournaments at all.
So have a golf tournaments here with Dow and especially a team events, which mean like everyone can be more enjoyable and then cheering for like their team they rooting for, which is I think it's just really good week and really fun week, which mean like not just only for come watch golf, but come watch the enjoyment of golf that we have been playing.
Q. It was announced earlier this week the countries that will be represented in International Crown. Both Thailand and China are represented. How excited are you to compete this week in a team event and hopefully get to compete in that team event later on?
JEENO THITIKUL: Separate. Sorry.
RUONING YIN: That's so mean.
JEENO THITIKUL: There is a line.
Q. How excited are you for the opportunity to represent your countries in Korea later this year?
RUONING YIN: I mean, be able to representing your country is definitely something bigger than individual. I think we didn't play that good last time. I hope I can just like be able to enjoy the team event more, and then I'm looking forward to against her. (Smiling.)
JEENO THITIKUL: (Laughter.) See. I don't know how can we team up this week. Yeah, just always proud to representing my country alongside all the top players, like all other three Thai players.
Definitely had really good memories last time that we won for the first time. Yeah, hopefully just really good fun match that's going to happen in Korea. A lot of good food for sure in Korea.
Don't laugh me like that.
Then, yeah, just play against her. She's so combative. I'm just like so enjoy.
RUONING YIN: She's more chill.
JEENO THITIKUL: Than you, yes.
Q. I know I introduced you guys as Team Jin & Ronic. Are you running back team Jin & Ronic?
RUONING YIN: Yeah, we love that name.
Q. For those that don't know, what he the story behind the name?
JEENO THITIKUL: I did say last time. You should say this time.
RUONING YIN: So it was my coach came up with this name because my coach and Jeeno's coach, they both love drinking.
JEENO THITIKUL: (Indiscernible.)
RUONING YIN: Yeah, and then gin and tonic was your coach's favorite drink, so there is one day and then after drink he was like, maybe you guys can go for Jin & Ronic.
JEENO THITIKUL: It's the best team name so far to be honest to my opinion. Not being bias, but, yeah.
RUONING YIN: Uh-huh.
