Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: Here now with Ronni and Jeeno after their first round here at the Dow Championship. Kind of take us through the round today. What worked well for you?

RUONING YIN: I think for foursomes you've just got to be consistent, maybe a little more safe, playing more safe than four ball.

Today I think we were pretty -- we're not quite there. I feel like we're not quite there.

JEENO THITIKUL: We did not wake up yet. It's too early.

RUONING YIN: I thought I played pretty good.

JEENO THITIKUL: Yeah, back nine is pretty good actually. Just front nine, maybe haven't played together for a long time.

RUONING YIN: Front nine, she keeps saying wakey, wakey.

JEENO THITIKUL: Wakey, wakey, it's too early.

RUONING YIN: I think overall a pretty solid start.

Q. How is the shift in strategy going to be heading into tomorrow's best ball round?

JEENO THITIKUL: I think it's just going to be a pretty like lower round of golf for sure. So I think both of us trying to be as aggressive as possible because, if you miss, you still have your partner there. I think it should be more flow than today for sure because you play your own balls.

And then you can be aggressive, and then if you miss it's fine. Yeah, that's pretty much my four ball strategy.

Q. Is one of you going to try to be a little more aggressive tomorrow?

RUONING YIN: Yes, 100 percent. She just said to me on the last hole, if we play four ball I'll use pitching wedge. Yeah, so I think four ball is definitely going to be a little more aggressive because everybody's trying to get low scores.

Q. Just kind of talk about the course today. How were the conditions? Is it like riding a bike, getting back out there at Midland Country Club?

JEENO THITIKUL: I think it's pretty soft out there after the rain a little bit. Like the greens play softer and also slower a little bit after the rain. Then a little windy and tough pin going, I think for front nine, though. Back nine it's not really, but front nine had -- like No. 2 hard to get in like close.

Q. Obviously defending champions. What's it like to kind of be back? Have you been greeted warmly by the fans here?

JEENO THITIKUL: You have your story.

RUONING YIN: So today on the 1st tee box I saw some fans with our like poster or signs.

JEENO THITIKUL: Signs.

RUONING YIN: It's very surprising, I would say, because I didn't expect that, like the fans can have the sign for us. But obviously, everyone loved Jin & Ronic.

JEENO THITIKUL: Did you ask them (laughter)?

I mean, this is the week I'm really looking forward to play, play alongside my best friend and also play here, which is always good fans coming to watch us play.

And then, yeah, I'm like Ronni, maybe everyone likes Jin & Ronic.

Q. Did you see your poster walking on 18 there? What's that like going back in time and remembering maybe what happened about a year ago?

RUONING YIN: It's definitely one of my favorite memories. I would love to see the second one.

JEENO THITIKUL: Yes.
