THE MODERATOR: Joined now by Team Biggie Smalls, Megan and Lexi, after their second round here at the Dow Championship. Different format today. Just kind of take us through the round.
LEXI THOMPSON: (Indiscernible) better.
MEGAN KHANG: No, no, no, it's a team effort. Having best ball and having Lexi as a partner, we gave each other like a green light. I knew, if I was going to have trouble I'd have Lexi there, and she was there to bail me out.
We got off to a little slow start. I think I got a little putter happy on No. 7 when I happened to hit a good shot in. I think I had the same distance as a comebacker, but Lexi being a tap-in, it was a no brainer that I had to give it a run.
But really happy that we kind of turned it around. Made the turn with a birdie to kind of gain that momentum, and just really kind of fed off of each other on the back nine.
Q. Two times around the track now. What's been kind of the things that stand out about the course, and what are you still maybe trying to navigate?
LEXI THOMPSON: I think today we both knew coming into it that it was going to be a lot windier. We knew just committing to our lines out there might play a little bit more difficult.
But at the same time, the greens are still receptive. We knew best ball we still have to make birdies to make any type of move. Coming out today, course is in great shape. I'm sure maybe they'll move a few tees up to maybe risk/reward a little bit for alternate shot. We'll just take it as it comes and take it shot by shot.
Q. Heading back to alternate shot tomorrow. Any change in strategy from Thursday?
MEGAN KHANG: No. I think both of us are pretty happy with how we played. Obviously you want to be climbing the leaderboard, but alternate shot you just have to stay patient and take it as it goes.
I haven't really looked at the weather tomorrow, but we'll see where we stand after today after everyone's gone and really more so focus on our game, because I think we stay and play in our own space, then we're kind of right where we want to be.
Q. Just tell me what you kind of picked up from that first round and used it today.
LEXI THOMPSON: What we took from the first round, I didn't put Megan in some of the best spots on a few of the holes, but she recovered amazing. I know she's so consistent and straight and an amazing putter. I knew, if I just gave her looks and gave her a shot from the fairway, she stuck a few wedges.
We just really feeded off each other really well and just took a lot of positives from that into today. 3-under from alternate shot is really good, so we took it into today and tried to make some birdies, make more birdies.
Q. Both of you being in this event before, what's the excitement of this event, playing a unique event like this each and every year?
MEGAN KHANG: I feel like we've been fortunate enough to play on Solheim Cups -- Lexi Olympics and International Crown; myself, just Solheim Cup. It's always different playing in a team format. I think it's so fun. I think it brings out a different side of us players. I think our personalities really shine through.
Having a good friend out there, golf is already such a lonely sport; it's really cool having a format where you get to have a teammate, you get to have not just your caddie as your only partner out there.
Let's say like in best ball, you have a bad hole, you've got your partner saying, you've got this. Dang straight I do. I for sure got this. This is light work. So just kind of having that different aspect of really staying positive, if not just for yourself, but for your partner.
It's hard enough to stay positive on your own, but you'd hate to see your partner get down on herself. I think we do a pretty good job of staying positive out there.
Q. Just give me your thoughts on the course so far after playing the past two days.
MEGAN KHANG: I thought I made a lot more putts than actually went in. Greens are tricky to read. I think we both have the speed dialed down. Hopefully tomorrow we hole a little more and don't stress each other out too much.
LEXI THOMPSON: Fairways and greens, hole a few more putts. That's the goal.
Q. Just wondering what is kind of your favorite part about playing together?
MEGAN KHANG: The unfiltered comments in between. That we'll keep to ourself. (Laughter).
LEXI THOMPSON: I think we really feed off each other really well. She has a great personality and keeps it lighthearted out there. I'm probably more on the serious side of things, but I need that balance.
MEGAN KHANG: We have great banter.
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I need that balance, and that's what makes us a great team.
Q. Obviously mentioned in the pretournament presser Stacy was a little bit of the inspiration behind this team-up and got to play with her the last two days. How cool of a full circle moment is that?
MEGAN KHANG: Stacy's been joking with us that she should get a percentage of what we're playing in. I joke, I said -- she was like every time her name is mentioned. So our former Solheim Cup captain is definitely a good part of how this partnership got to be.
Lucky enough, Stacy needed a partner and I was looking as well. We linked up, and seeing how we played in Spain, we knew we could play well together.
Here we are having good fun.
