Quick Quotes

THE MODERATOR: Joining me today are Pauline and Manon at the Dow Championship. Can you just talk through your round today and any highlights you might have had.

MANON DeROEY: Today was a very interesting day, I thought. It took us a while to get in it a little, I feel like.

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I agree with that. It's not that we were really stressed or anything. It's just that momentum didn't come straightaway. Clutch putt on 5 to get a par. I think after that it actually kind of loosened us up a little bit.

I mean, it didn't really matter the score. We just had a lot of fun. I still butchered a lot of songs, and, yeah.

Q. Share a little bit more about that, about how it is adjusting from a four ball format to an alternate shot format.

MANON DeROEY: It's just like it's really hard to get into your rhythm. Sometimes you -- I mean, I didn't do a long putt until 18th hole, I feel like. Just for the momentum it's a bit tough sometimes.

I feel like we still did pretty good. I'm very proud of us. We hang in there. We fought until the end. Yeah, I think we still did good.

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: I think in that format it's really about hanging around and limiting mistakes. It's so important to just try to be like -- I'll try to be satisfied with that one shot they're going to hit and breathe the rest of the time and give up control, because the rest of the time we just -- we play all the shots usually.

It's just, okay, I've done my shot. Now I'm just going to try to relax and stuff.

Q. You finished the day at 1-under. How do you feel you work as a team to kind of bounce off each other's strengths and then to keep yourself in it in an event like this?

MANON DeROEY: I just think we're both -- like I feel like we're very comfortable around each other. I feel like we can create a lot of chances between us. So, yeah, keep going.

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: There's a lot of fire in the both of us, and we'll just feed from each other. I don't think there's one shot that can affect us in the wrong way. So it won't affect our dynamic no matter what. That's kind of our strength. If I need to get mad, I can be mad, I can be myself around Manon and the caddies, which is the most important part.

Q. You guys had one of the lowest scores yesterday, shooting a second round 61. How are you taking that momentum into tomorrow with that format?

MANON DeROEY: I'm excited about the format tomorrow.

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: Me too. We're going to be hitting every shot.

MANON DeROEY: I think that format is easier. You're in control of your own game. Yesterday we feed it so good off each other. I feel like we should keep that momentum going for tomorrow.

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: Same thing. I won't share our secret, but same thing.

Q. Obviously it's pretty fun out here. There's the walk-up music, there's a lot of fans out and about today. How does that feel the energy? What's this event feeling like for you?

PAULINE ROUSSIN-BOUCHARD: For me, this is my favorite event. I love this tournament. That's what I was telling Manon earlier, it feels like a bubble because there's not many things around it.

The people are just amazing. The vibe from the crowd is just insane. 18 with some kind of island green around, it's just so cool that we can show off for everyone and create a fiery atmosphere.

MANON DeROEY: It's my first time here, but I love it. This event is really cool. I love playing in a team event. So, yeah, I'm excited for tomorrow.
