THE MODERATOR: Here now with the Cameron Crazies, Lindy and Miranda, after their amazing 59 here at the Dow Championship. Take us through the round. What was working for you?
LINDY DUNCAN: Miranda got off to a great start. She birdied the first two holes. We just got rolling. The pin on No. 2 was really tough, so that was a great birdie.
We kind of just kept rolling from there. We made a bunch of birdies at the turn and had a great finish as well.
MIRANDA WANG: I think today's session was a great day of teamwork. I started the first two holes with birdies, and that was because like Lindy put on, like, her approach shot was on the green. It was giving me a lot of comfort and confidence, so I was feeling comfortable making the putts.
In the middle of the round, I was getting a little nervous and over-excited, and Lindy, because it's my first season, and Lindy went to the same university as I did. She's like being the veteran out there and calming me down. When I made a mistake, she was there making pars and birdies.
Q. Speaking of the same university, take us through the name Cameron Crazies and how this partnership came to be.
LINDY DUNCAN: We kind of changed our name, but I don't think it went through. We were going to be Team DWG, which is Duke Women's Golf, but also Duncan Wang Golf. We'll take the Cameron Crazies too. Either works.
We just thought it had to be something Duke related.
Q. Did you ask Miranda, did Miranda ask you? How did the partnership come to be?
MIRANDA WANG: She's such a good player, and I admire her a lot. Yeah, and I think -- so the first I met her I felt like we have a good -- like our characters are a little bit similar. We have common topics to talk about.
So I think that was something that like made me want to reach out to her.
Q. How did you guys complement each other's game this week?
LINDY DUNCAN: I felt like in alternate shot we were really steady. Miranda's short game was incredible all week.
MIRANDA WANG: Thank you.
LINDY DUNCAN: She chipped in on the second round here on 18, and that really got our momentum kind of turning around for us. So we were talking a lot about making chip-ins and calling the doctor (?) Pinski.
MIRANDA WANG: She had that chip in.
LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, I had a great chip-in. You gave me the juju. It was a lot of fun going back and forth.
We drove it well, hit a lot of fairways. Putting out here is always tough. We did a good job managing that too.
Q. Talk about the week as a whole. Obviously a unique format, a very fun format out here on Tour, especially smack dab in the middle of two majors. How much fun did you have this week? Hopefully come back next year.
MIRANDA WANG: I'm super proud of our work this week. I enjoyed it. From Monday to this moment is so fun. It's a very unique experience. I really look forward to coming back next year.
LINDY DUNCAN: It's so nice to play as a team. Alternate shot is you feel the pressure of it, and I thought we did a great job of putting that to the side and just playing the best that we could with the games that we brought on those days.
I learned so much from Miranda, but also like that pressure that you feel and that you put on yourself and how that doesn't always help, it can be a little bit unnecessary. You've just got to go out and play freely. Whatever happens happens. You're going to make lots of mistakes, and then it's okay. The faster you move on from them and get on with it, the better.
Q. What do you take away from this week heading into our European swing and our last two majors of the season?
LINDY DUNCAN: Miranda is playing good.
MIRANDA WANG: Lindy is playing good. I think she's definitely chat worthy material.
LINDY DUNCAN: Likewise. Thank you so much.
